Having grown up on a farm, worked with migrant workers, had family and friends who were migrant workers or sons, daughters, grandkids, etc... of them, I find this absolutely appalling. Hell, I find it absolutely appalling just on a "how we should treat human beings" level.

Perhaps the external threats that Europe now faces are enough to get movement. Especially if it drives out the internal threats to democracy.
