The thing here is he's got a choice:
Be an election denier.
Or not take this job.
Those are the two choices.
Trump would not let him have the job unless he denied the election.
This in no way justifies his behavior, but it probably explains his behavior.
Plenty of collaborators the world over have done so not because they truly support a dictator but because they’re afraid.
That said—whatever the inner motivation or true feelings, public collaborators like Warsh should always be shunned, especially in cases like this.
I certainly think it’s possible Warsh is an election denier himself, but I believe it’s equally possible he doesn’t subscribe to that bullshit but is afraid to say something different because he’s afraid of the repercussions to his career if he doesn’t parrot the Trump MAGA lie.
