New Seattle Storm guard Natisha Hiedeman on how she feels being separated from her other half of the StudBudz, Courtney Williams:
Our @munson-bella.bsky.social checked in with a familiar face to many Seattle locals on the Storm's training camp roster: Washington alum Elle Ladine:
And finally for tonight, source confirms to me and @herhoopstats.com that Kalani Brown's mutual termination (i.e. buyout) with the Phoenix Mercury is for $100,000.
So Brown gets that and becomes a UFA unless claimed off waivers, in which case existing $277,500 contract goes to new team. #WNBA
Definitely can see why it makes sense 😅 I mean, I think about any time Alyssa Naeher was injured and someone with maybe three caps had to come in and struggled. Particularly, the end of the Tokyo Olympics...
I really appreciated Emma Hayes' in-depth answers about how she is approaching the development of her #USWNT goalkeepers. One may be better, but both will have the experience to set the team up for success at major international tournaments.
As Claudia Dickey and the #USWNT prepare for Game 3 against Japan, take a few minutes to read @munson-bella.bsky.social's piece about Emma Hayes' approach to creating depth at the goalkeeper position.
Explained the new provision for @spotrac.com when first reported:
www.spotrac.com/news/_/id/32...
@richardcohen.bsky.social reported that the provision could be used during the signing period after a player's second or third season. Boston just finished her third season and is entering her fourth.
Aliyah Boston becomes the first WNBA player to benefit from the CBA's new 'EPIC' provision.
As an All-WNBA Second Team honoree in 2025, Boston was able to renegotiate the fourth year of her rookie-scale contract to a maximum salary (17% of cap) and add three additional years at the supermax (20%).
A team spokesperson confirmed that Awa Fam, No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 #WNBA Draft, will not be with the Seattle Storm at the start of training camp on April 19; instead, the 19-year-old Spaniard will join the team in early May.

Thank you, Seattle 💙
The #USWNT lost in front of a record crowd that came out despite miserable weather, but at this point, head coach Emma Hayes is focused on developing and gaining experience for her young players to reach the highest level.

Trading for Flau’jae Johnson understandably took center stage but beyond that the Storm got a possible generational talent in Awa Fam, someone they think can add to guard depth in Taina Mair, and someone to compete at forward in Grace VanSlooten.

A Seattle Reign reunion between head coach Laura Harvey, Rose Lavelle and Emily Sonnett with the #USWNT in town 🥹
I’m not sure they know
At No. 14 in the #WNBADraft, the Seattle Storm select Duke's Taina Mair. She was the ACC Tournament MVP.

LSU's Flau'jae Johnson goes eighth to the Golden State Valkyries.
"..Undeniably a great wing defender, a top athlete in any direction — horizontal or vertical — who mirrors in space, pressures the ball well both at the POA and on the drive, and is a standout navigating screens."
I don't know how Seattle pulled off that pretty unbalanced trade for Flau’jae Johnson, but ok Storm, that's a good move
With the third pick of the 2026 #WNBADraft, the Seattle Storm select Awa Fam Thiam from Spain.
"Fam has always played her best in the biggest moments, thanks to a rare combination of skill, strength, athleticism and processing speed at her age."

Washington Mystics announce they've signed 26-year-old F and 2021 #WNBA Rookie of the Year Michaela Onyenwere. Chiney Ogwumike reports it's a multi-year deal for over $1.4M.
Onyenwere was a UCLA assistant coach this season. Stay tuned to see if the Mystics draft any Bruins. @theixsports.bsky.social
