A young axolotl sets out across a strange, shifting lakeside world in search of his lost family. Hereโs an exclusive clip from 'Axolodyssey,' a fully hand-drawn short directed by Jon Densk, who spoke to us about his indie epic: www.cartoonbrew.com/shorts/axolo...
Working with water spirits this afternoon. Walking the dog now though.
Arrived early for oncology appointment, fortunately I have one of the dozen recent books @aptshadow.bsky.social published in recent months to keep me company...
On the blog, @reading1000lives.bsky.social (Daniel Haeusser) reviews Eerie Whispers: Exploring Canada's Reluctant Relationship with its Ghostly Lore, by Brian Baker (2025).

Happy anniversary, mate!
The irony is I am recovering from the cancer surgery, feeling better, stronger, building back up... And now have the chemo segment looming, so worrying I am going to be knocked right back down again. Different versions of it, find out today which they are planning to use. Has to be done, but yeesh
Chuckie Egg!!! That will mean nothing to many, but those geeks of a certain vintage, the first to have "home computers" as they were then called, will remember this 8-bit delight, coded by a 15 year old

Monte Lauro, Sicily ... what a place! Soooo many orchids. Picks from 8hrs 20min in the field ๐คฃ. Ophrys laurensis, Ophrys tenthredinifera, Anacamptis papilionacea and a Bertolonii hybrid headache. ๐๐ฎ๐น 20/4/2026
Looking forward to this!
I hope you had a good think about it first (sorry)
A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!
Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....
A black and white mural of two hands holding a camera around a balcony doorway. Painted by Collettivo FX at the Pizzo Sella Art Village in Palermo, Italy. The window acts as a natural lens framing the mountains.

My emotions are usually on my sleeve, but in recent months with the cancer treatment, they have been all over the place. Even after the surgery. After my walk under the cherry blossoms with chum, I suddenly found myself almost crying, just because I was able to go and see them again this year
2 copies of Jacques And The Great Art Theft sit basking in sun light. they look resplendid in their canary yellow covers.
My beautiful hand holds open a page of the Jacques comic. In this sequence Jacques is descending from rooftops gracefully only to be foiled by a pesky pigeon.
Once again my ageless and delicate fingers hold open a page of the Jacques comic, in which our titular hero is springing through the air in a perfect somersault to catch their errant umbrella
My withered and taloned claw like hand holds open the first 2 pages of the Jacques comic. It's an establishing shot that shows that Jacques lives in Paris, lives in a shabby apartment and is struggling to find his gloves.
I'm working on a new Jacques book of short stories. But in order to do that I need to sell some of the old books so that I can pay my colourist!

Does anyone else do that? Rechecking route, train times etc, even though you have already checked them all the day before and committed to memory, but the day of the trip, there you are checking again anyway.
As specialists move around various hospitals, the appointment today, annoyingly, is in a neighbouring town. Been once before, it is an almost straight line walk from the train station to hospital, yet I still find myself repeatedly checking the map route again anyway
this sounds like something out of a bulgakov novel
