Every time something related to health comes up, I think of how horrible RFK is, and how much I want to be in his face, telling him precisely when he will be impeached.
A front box cargo bike with an infant seat and baby and a cool toddler wearing sunglasses and a helmet
Without a test ride, without even seeing this bike in person we took a leap. We sold a car and bought this e-cargo bike.
And it changed our life.
Happy 5th birthday 'Mike the Bike'

Anyone living in the US can make a comment.
I decided to write about at each & every one of the 32 states with supreme court elections this year.
Why? On abortion, redistricting, death penalty, & more, these institutions & their elections remain so critical.
So here's everything you need to know. NEW from me:
When I moved to Georgia, I encountered my first actively aggressive close pass car drivers. I shifted to riding multiple day rides w/ 1000+ others, thinking safety in numbers. It was the slippery slope to activism. Now I want to live in the Netherlands.
Woo!
“Take a moment to think before you dive in. That’s the best advice for Google Photos users, as the company confirms its latest update can scan all your photos to “use actual images of you and your loved ones” in AI image generation.”

Explosive & really outrageous revelations in here about a billionaire's private surveillance network completely run amok.
If we can't stop Dolan from spying on us at MSG, let's at least cancel his sweetheart tax break. (1/2)
Celebrating women who slogged through phd land in the era when women were actively discouraged and rarely admitted.
Every day I surprise my patients. By telling them their disease is not from poor personal choices, but rather from poor land-use decisions by their city.
No access to safe walking & biking, more diabetes and kidney disease. They get it.

This by-donation workshop is full enough to commence on Tuesday evening
But we can fit a few more seats for folks that are interested!
Room for a 1/2, a 1/4 suggested donations and one free seat is available as well!
I promise it is good hearted, and silly and a chance to share hopes and fears
Four rescue greyhounds! I have envy. Also good on Spencer.
Gosh, you mean a submissive robot servant lady affects how people talk to real women (and other people)?
couldn't have predicted this except when Unesco, and lots of female commentators, did in fact predict it years ago

Thanks, @ylepidemiologist.bsky.social, for pointing this out. It would never have occurred to me. Also thanks for the clarity about doing CPR for anyone who needs it. I've said "Don't unless you're trained" and am grateful for the correction. Let's hope we never need to know this, but....

Last night, I was trying to make a point about the idea of transitional love objects, and so the timing of this post is a bit uncanny.
I need everyone to understand this is eugenics in action—not just “quackery.” Much like the “anti vax” movement as a whole.
"The number of "news deserts" in Virginia more than doubled between 2023 and 2025, per Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism's ongoing State of Local News project."
No shade to the OP for admitting this, but it shocks me that people my age don’t know this.
You fundamentally cannot understand how the world functions, how power works, if you don’t know history.

“'I’ve never experienced anything like this in my entire life,' the congresswoman said, fighting back tears.
"She described the way people were laying down inside as “like sardines.”
“'It is frightening in there,' she said. 'It is disgusting'..."

I think this every time I walk the dog on my neighborhood streets. If my neighbors only knew how loud they were — driving in what Clarissa Pinkola Estes called, the “metal uteruses”—maybe they would slow down.
ICE knows they can operate freely in Massachusetts courts, so they are of course going to focus on the place where they face the least friction. The PROTECT Act would limit arrests in courthouses by requiring a judicial warrant or order, and a review by a judicial official.
My mail has been inundated with Peter Theil funded misinformation, and I’m angry; also I voted already, so some part of me likes that he’s wasting his money.
My dad became a person who sorted research and contributed to interfaith data, and I listened to his stats discussions, always a guy who liked huge surveys, and longitudinal studies. I appreciate Hackett’s work here.
