Minneapolis residents are now able to apply for rental assistance funded by the City of Minneapolis. On February 5 and March 26, the Minneapolis City Council approved funding to support renter households after the devastating and continued impact of Operation Metro Surge. 1/

It’s been such a busy week I haven’t had a chance to post these beautiful photos @taylordahlin.com took of a heron that returned to Loring Park over the weekend!
Their return, so close after our first thunderstorm of the year, is a sure sign that spring is here after our long winter.

A special thanks to our park staff, neighborhood associations, and volunteers who made this a city-wide event a success.
As Earth Day approaches, I hope we can reflect on what caring looks like towards our land, water, and living beings.

Last night’s ICE abduction near 20th & Central didn’t happen in a vacuum. Friday morning they were found stalking people at Huset Park and earlier in April they kidnapped someone near East Phillips community center.

We had a good MPRB Committee of the Whole meeting tonight to continue learning about the org’s budget history, as well as outlining our priorities for the next 4 years.
Broadly stated, those priorities are:
Youth, Natural Areas, Revenue, and Finance.
We’re working on specifics in coming months.
Hello all! I am as well!
With this Federal administration, I don't want this to be a pathway for more criminalization.

Thank you!
Many community members are navigating dehumanizing immigration court processings and we should not be adding another court process.
Dear community, I am calling on Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to sign on Pause Eviction, Safe Lives.
If this policy does not pass, please expect to see our vulnerable community members enter the court process.
All funds raised will go toward legal representation. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
Dear community, please help me share Mario’s story and fundraiser.
On January 12, Mario was abducted by federal agents at his workplace. Mario has a partner and small children, who now have to carry both financial burdens and emotional trauma.

Daisy’s father has three children, has lived in the U.S. for 35 years, attending his annual immigration check-ins and working long hours to provide for his family.
A community member's father was recently taken into ICE custody and is now awaiting deportation. Daisy’s family is raising funds to help cover legal fees and asking community to share their story and support them during this difficult time. gofund.me/2167c987f
