Ātea a Rangi in Napier. Is compás réalta traidisiúnta é. Bhí na bundúchasaigh i muinín na réaltaí chun eolas na slí a dhéanamh tráth.

Is ómós iontach dó áilleacht na bhfocal. Ní maith liom do bhris.

Is mór an trua é sin.

Foirm í nGaeilge

Foirm í nGaeilge

Bhí sceitimíní orm Daonáireamh 1926 a fhiosrú agus áthas orm a fháil amach gurbh i nGaeilge a líon mo sheanathair mór an fhoirm agus iad i nGaillimh!
Anuas ar sin ba chainteoir dúchais Gaeilge í mo sheanmháthair mhór eile a bhí ina cónaí i nDún na nGall.

Eala dhubh (Kakīānau) le héin eala. Tugadh ealaí dubha isteach ón Astráil sna 1860idí agus tá siad forleathan sa Nua-Shéalainn anois.

MÁIRE NÍ BHRAONÁIN 1952-2026: Chuaigh a síodúlacht mhaorga uasal i gcion ar na mílte… Guth fódúil ach guth aerga a bhí ag Máire Ní Bhraonáin agus chuir sí an chluain chaoin ar chách leis

Bhí an nua agus an sean leo ón tús mar sin agus le himeacht aimsire dheamhan faitíos a bhí orthu iad a mheascadh le chéile ar bhealaí úra, tarraingteacha. ~ @lillis.bsky.social

Alt cruinn. Bhí agóidí mar sin sa tír seo tar éis Covid. Rinne ár rialtas na botúin chéanna agus tá rialtas nua againn anois a bhfuil an dream is diongbháilte ar an eite dheis ann.

An Ghaeilge thar lear: Teanga phobail ar fud na cruinne Taobh amuigh d’Éirinn, ní mhaireann an Ghaeilge mar theanga laethúil sa chiall thraidisiúnta. Ní go hiondúil í a chur ar aghaidh ó ghlúin go glúin.

An Ghaeilge thar lear, cuid a haon: Teanga phobail ar fud na cruinne. Is náisiún saibhir í Éire anois; ach toisc gur náisiún bocht a bhí inti tráth, labhraíodh an Ghaeilge go forleathan thar lear. Sraith í seo ar an nGaeilge mar theanga idirnáisiúnta.

Bhí díomá orm iad a chloisteáil ag tabhairt tacaíocht ar na hagóidí. Nach dtuigeann siad na spriocanna atá ag an eite dheis?

MUTV recently had the chance to record Dubhán O’Longain reciting his poem “Inár nDiaidh” ☘️

The poem was written using statistics gathered about the use of Irish on our campus. Recently Dubhán recited the poem for President Connolly’s visit to the university to launch “Ár gCampas, Ár dTeanga”!

Scothscéalta le Pádraic Ó Conaire

Scothscéalta le Pádraic Ó Conaire

Chríochnaigh mé 'Rún an Bhonnáin' faoi dheireadh! Bhí sé rud beag mall ar dtús agus bhí sé deacair suim a choinneáil sa scéal. Ar aon nós, thosaigh mé ar leabhar nua inniu, bailiúchán gearrscéalta: 'Scothscéalta' le Pádraic Ó Conaire.

Costasach go leor! Sa chás seo is díon maol é agus thit géag crainn air cúpla mí ó shin. Is léir go raibh damáiste ann ach ní thug muid faoi deara é.

Bhuel, ní raibh an cioclón ró-olc inár gceantar féin, BLD. Bhí tuilte ó thuaidh ach ní bhfuair muid anseo ach báisteach throm agus gaoth láidir. Ar an drochuair tá an díon ag ligean tríd sa chistin, ach tá buicéad ann mar réiteach sealadach!

Tá sé ag teacht i dtír faoi láthair. Tá aslonnú na ndaoine a bhfuil cónaí orthu ar an gcósta ag tarlú i bhfad ó thuaidh. Beidh sé níos measa anseo amárach, de réir tuairiscí.

Postáil de chuid Muslim Sisters of Éire: We’ve spent the last 48 hours coordinating the logistics and prep work necessary to get our soup run stationed at the GPO. When we got to the top of O’Connell Street, the Guards wouldn’t allow us to go through, but after much persuasion, they escorted us with a patrol car up to the GPO. Given the current situation, we truly appreciate them assisting us despite having their hands full.
We arrived and were surprised that the queue was not as large as expected. When we got there, a lot of people thought that we wouldn’t be able to get through. Soon the word got out and the queue became much longer.
Everything went well; we had a lot of food and donations. A huge shout out to little Amelia who came to our office and donated €50 from her birthday money as well as her Easter eggs—such kindness and beauty in such a young child. A credit to her mammy and daddy.
Tonight took a deeply upsetting turn. As we were finishing our service, we were approached by a group of five or six individuals carrying Irish flags. They began shouting xenophobic rhetoric, telling us this country is "only for the Irish," that we don't belong here, and that we should "go home."

They began shouting xenophobic rhetoric, telling us this country is "only for the Irish," that we don't belong here, and that we should "go home."

In a beautiful show of solidarity, those around the GPO immediately spoke up, asserting that we are Irish. However, the situation turned hostile. Our Chairperson and founder was targeted with verbal abuse and told to "go back where she came from"—despite being from Coolock. It was clear that because she wears a hijab, her identity as an Irish woman was being questioned.
In 11 years of service, we have never experienced such verbal abuse. It was difficult to maintain the peace, but the homeless community—truly amazing people—stepped up to protect us. We are grateful that the situation eventually de-escalated and the Gardaí arrived to disperse the group.
Providing 300 meals to those in need only to be met with hate is sickening. But let it be known: we remain undeterred. We are united, and we will always be there for the less fortunate, regardless of their background. In Ireland, you don’t need an ID to receive a warm meal from a soup run.
We can’t do this without your constant support. If you would like to help us or donate, please visit https://msoe.ie/donate/.

Is mar gheall ar ghrúpaí ar nós Muslim Sisters of Éire nach bhfuil cúrsaí níos measa fós sa tír. An dream sin a mhaíonn gur cheart "tús áite a thabhairt d'Éireannaigh", léiríonn siad arís is arís eile gur cuma leo dáiríre faoi dhaoine eile, níl sa mhaíomh sin ach iarracht an ciníochas a cheilt.
