to understand Kizuna you need to have an open mind, and realize they were trying to change what did not age well, while still adding some interesting twist that is said to not be PERMANENT therefore yes, they will be getting the mons back dw they will figure things out.
if you only focus on the idea Menoa is right about the "partnership dissolution" and assume Agumon/Gabumon/Piyomon are "dead" or that the movie says "you're too old for digimon gtfo", you're missing the entire point of it and what it was trying to fix.
also, and tbh, i really think despite you liking or not, Kizuna has been trying to modernize stuff, and fix things that "aged badly" so this is possibly why Miyako and Mimi have a huge change, and why "To Sora" has Sora claim she wanted to be herself.

also i never get the idea fashion design and cooking is a "woman" job. i've seen so many men as fashion designer and so little women!? and culinary world is full of male men too (besides that, there was a terrible mistranslation to Mimi's career iirc, fixed in the new official subs)

Accusing things to be mid and only mid is what makes me mute/block people, especially if they're thrown into tags. No hard feelings, i just don't want to see neg comments and opinions when i'm also having a huge meltdown and sensitive episode, fear for losing people i love bc of some serious issues.

Even if Daisuke's portrayal is still on point and the ramen parts were dropped nicely and well planned (unlike "are reboots tasty" BS imo), i'd still see people loathing this movie and ignoring the whole picture.
or complaining about Hikari's portrayal. or the final scenes of the movie.
A lot of people treated 02TB also like something disrespectful for the lore when interviews showed the opposite. the staff studying the TIMELINE and looking for spaces to add Rui's lore into it shows they had a lot of thought and care.

even if Kizuna had this whole message to not be stuck in a toxic nostalgia factor (by Menoa/Eosmon as rep) and embrace the good memories but still move on (Adv'99 cast) and even live the moment at fullest (02 kids), a lot of people continue drowning themselves into nostalgia factor and that's sad.
So the idea that 02 "ruined" Adv'99 finale or lore is the stupidest complaint ever imo. Pardon for my rudeness.
BESIDES THAT, even if Adv'99 & 02 are great, tri. unfortunately had ruined it for LOTS OF PEOPLE, especially to have people assume malice from Kizuna staff (a different staff even!!)
The iconic bittersweet finale y'all love and hate 02 to have "destroyed" was not supposed to be just poetic and vague -- it was them announcing 02 starting the next week in Japan. Iirc they even aired the preview for ep 1 on the same day, and OWG screens also had announcements for 02 too.
Like, i'm sorry you wanted Adv'99 to continue and loathe 02 for expanding the lore and universe and adding more characters in the cast, but Adv'99 is more likely an ideas series and many things you care and like came FROM 02 and 02 was greenlit around the end of the Vamdemon arc iirc.
They even drag 02 into this awful mindset because of it taking place in the SAME universe and having the Adv'99 cast in it. Many people claim to like 02 but they don't give a f*ck to the new characters. Many of them want a brand new content only with the 8, even if that's impossible at this point.
the idea that "the fans want more Adventure content" is controversial and somehow not true, a good chunk of the fans don't want it. a good chunk of the fans let a loud discontent groan slip every time Bandai-Toei gives more Taichi stuff.

But i think if we continue assuming Digimon franchise must be exactly like it was in the 90s, or even, continue with Adventure cast and material, i think a lot of people will just quit.

Checking Beyond MV again, i've realized Taichi has a smartphone, and Iori says to be a High Schooler. Iori's High School period is from 2009 to 2012 (in which in 02TB he's graduating and in process to join college iirc)
which means Kizuna and 02TB were NOT "retconned".
