I mean like I don't care and this is objectively better for me personally (or at least it will be if they ever stopped supporting Israel) but it really does just further lay bare how much they lied to regulators about everything when they bought Activision.

It can be both true that the girl doesn't look like a realistic little girl and it overly cutesy in weird ways, but also the game is clearly not sexualising her at all and acting like it is is ceding far too much ground to actual pedophiles. Actually rude to the devs to talk about it this way.

I like poking fun at the design of the little girl in Pragmata but I'm very much over this whole "Pragmata is pedo bait discourse," like you can tell how many people saying that haven't watched much anime. Games criticism is out here doing 10 year old moe discourse.

A real testament to how a strong gameplay loop can really elevate an experience. Goes from good to great just by being pure fun to play. Really enjoyed my time with it.

Pragmata really is a testament to the power of a great gameplay loop, the game really is elevated from pretty good to great just because it's so much fun on a basic mechanical level. It's such a video game in a basic, simple way you don't often see outside of Nintendo and indies.

41. Hauntii

I enjoyed it a lot, an interesting take on death and making peace with letting go. Also just gorgeously animated and great music. Gameplay maybe got repetitive but had fun with its simple blend of twinstick shooting with Mario Odyssey collecting and possession mechanics. Recommended.

Capcom gets special permission to have those every few years, a Kunitsu-Gami to balance out the Monster Hunters and Resident Evils, as a treat

40. PARANORMASIGHT: The Mermaid's Curse

Very good to great, improvement on the already good first game in many ways. The pacing still isn't pitch perfect but it's a marked improvement on the original. Keep refining and the next game might be truly special.
