I think they said it was 5 yard. But the play is dead (I didn't catch at the LoS or site of kick) before the 5 yards are assessed. So not that bad if you're punting on 3rd-down like it's 1902.

If you win too few games in one season, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done before, you’re fired and fans will hate you.

If you win too many games, someone will pay 9 figures to leave and fans will hate you.

You have to win the exact right number. Kirk Ferentz has mastered this.

I consider myself fairly knowledgeable in music theory courses from a full curriculum in college, but there are two things I often forget. Can you guess what they are first of all?
That's a fun challenge. Based on what many otherwise knowledgeable musicians tend to forget or get fuzzy on from music theory courses, my guesses would be:
1. The difference between a French, German, and Italian augmented sixth chord - even theory majors often mix these up or forget the exact spellings.
2. Neapolitan chord function and voice-leading rules - it's a common one to gloss over or misapply.

But it’s not odd like a 25-year reunion.

Top 5 all time movie over here. The Iowa connection does not hurt it one bit.

I get that…but I find I like more foods than not, and I might like something I’ve never tried more. So my two wolves are usually arguing about what to order.

If I was a Floridian I would be donating to Eric Adams right now.

@carrietipton.bsky.social Wanting to pick your book up on Kindle, but I see epub as the only option. I assume the DRM on it wouldn’t work with ‘send to Kindle?’ Sorry, I know that’s really more of a Publisher matter.

Did your kids at least see it as an adventure? (If they had any sense for how bad that time vs distance was ofc they wouldn’t, but…)

As a point of clarification, apparently it’s been in the public domain, but the point is: he published it just recently.

Okay, if you were unaware, Eric Whitacre finally got permission to publish the Frost poem that became Sleep.

One of the biggest carve-outs for fair use of a score is actually using it as a music theory analysis subject in a theory class. Don’t know how that applies to tests that are sold or for literature.

Yeah, the most obvious to always share is getting options in order for a project, and probably changing defaults to one’s liking. Many properties have a corresponding option, so if you’re changing the property frequently, you probably just want to tweak the option.

I’m happy to give them. It’s always easier to give specific tips seeing the things people are butting their heads against, but the general one is just getting very comfortable with Dorico’s way of thinking so you’re not “cutting against the grain.”

If you want someone to hop on a screen-sharing Zoom with and yell at about the program as if it’s their fault who can give advice 30-60% of the time for how to use it better, I do that for free for people.

Its dynamic handling can take some getting used to for sure. I remember reading the explanation of why copy-pasting works the way it does 5+ years ago and it making sense, but that knowledge has passed from my brain.

It looks like someone just told you that all they have left for food is toast and you said that would be fine when really you wanted some eggs.

In the Midwest, we’re still tripping over ourselves awkwardly to catch the door if we notice too late that someone is coming up behind us.
