It's not possible to view these kinds of arguments, which are coming up repeatedly, separately from the sustained attacks on shared governance. Some state legislatures and rich donors have been extremely vocal about removing faculty from positions where they can affect change at their universities.

Seems to me like Trump is desperately begging Iran to sign a replica of the Obama JCPOA he tore up. All for the low low price of thousands dead, global instability, high energy prices, and a toll on ships through the once-free strait of Hormuz.

Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.

We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

Cartoonish evil will always be with us. But we must change things so that people like this are typing whiny manifestos to each other, not running the world.

Buttigieg: I’ll give the Turning Point folks a lot of strategic credit for going to a lot of different places. Going to these college campuses is kind of the equivalent, in their minds, of the way I feel when I go on Fox News.

The difference is, when I go on Fox News, I’m telling the truth

Exclusive: Keating’s AUKUS sit-down with the new defence chief The choice of Mark Hammond signals Labor’s commitment to the subs deal, but his bid to persuade the former prime minister did not go well.

Deep concerns remain about Australia’s heavy reliance on the US for defence and the AUKUS submarine program

I don't recall any previous transformative technologies that had to be sold to the public so hard. No one in 1999 was going, "Guys. Cell phone? It's coming, whether we like it or not. I think it's important, FOR WOMEN ESPECIALLY, to learn about cell phone. So that we're not left behind!!"

Belief in & support for vaccines is normal.

“But that reality is not immune to the stories we tell about it… [Bad polls] change what clinicians say in the exam room, the decisions policymakers & leaders make, and ultimately become a self-fulfilling prophecy.”
