I've been quiet about it while waiting for friends to play Deltarune but the Roaring Knight design sniped me I fear. It is 100% My Shit.

And of course they love AI, AI is Echo holding up a mirror to Narcissus.

The top brass don’t understand why the companies they’re leeching off of are successful in the first place. They have no good ideas, they don’t even understand what the workers need to know in order to do their jobs half decently. Everyone is forced to take orders from the village idiots.

AI won’t save them. They’re betting everything that it does but it won’t. And everyone sees they’ve been salivating to cut their workforce in order to hoard more money. Anyone on the ground floor working in a space that forces AI will tell you it’s only slowed everything down and kills morale.

Just because knowledge is out there doesn’t mean it’s easy to find an expert. Just because you can learn how to be a pilot online doesn’t mean pilots are common. Onboarding entry positions are important and without them you will inevitably thin out the amount of experienced talent that do the work.

Call it informed naïveté but inevitably all these big companies will learn that the value of tenure goes both ways. Once a company establishes that working for them grants zero security they will lose their position as an attractive job option. While AAA kills golden geese, indies continue growing.
