Ripley feigned a pout, and shoved their hands in the pockets of their sweatpants. “I would have gladly eaten them all by myself.”

Though not stepping any nearer, they did partly turn their body to lean a shoulder against the wall just next to the doorway. “Sharing is caring, or something.”

“No problem.” And they’d stand just as they were, holding out the bag of cookies until he took them. It was the most still they had stood in a while. “Got carried away and baked way more than I should have, so.”

Celebratory return wiggle

“D’awh, me?” While keeping up with their cheery and welcoming disposition, their eyes glanced briefly between Reigh and his sister. They were waiting to see if Reigh would say anything, or if Nija would step in and introduce him. “Thank you.”

“Cookies,” they confirmed, giving the bag a light jostle. “Thought you might like some.”

And they’re immediately holding up the large freezer bag full of treats. “Cookies!”

Then, lightly, they leaned an inch or two away from Reigh before leaning back in to once more tap his shoulder with theirs.

When first Miri appeared from around the corner, Ripley greeted her with a smile and a small wave. They then glanced to Reigh, and upon seeing his stiffness they were quick to introduce themself first. Just to give him a moment.

“Hiya,” Ripley greeted following their little wave. “I’m Ripley.”

“I’d say to start small, even though I didn’t listen to that advice.” Ripley glanced briefly to Reigh, then back to Nija. “Plus, well, they’re not cheap.”
