Garden, but for humanity, so long has passed... never again will I be away for so long."
She didn't mind sharing this with the dhole. He was sincere, and she was going to respond accordingly.
"Not in the classic sense, no. I will exist as long as memories linger. Though too much pain can does harm me. Part of the reason why my lungs do not work as they should. Part of the reason why I hid away for the last century- more than a century now. Sure, for me, it is just a moment in my->
forgetting things."
"How many times do you get to talk to ancient forgotten gods, dearest? I am sure they would have plenty of different compliments for you."
A soft chuckle escaped the woman's lips.
"It is good for you, but you're starving me out. It's not as if there are a few other billion people constantly->
Who other than a Goddess of nostalgia would be better at guarding the lost and forgotten?
"That is what I do, dearest. Comforting the ones overcome with loss. You have lost an entire future when they captured you, but who says you cannot build a new one for yourself? My gardens are wide and generous, and no dangers lurk in them for as long as I am here to protect them... and you."->
"Oh my, definitely with! Cinnamon holds so many dear memories."
Indeed, many Christmases were celebrated with a hint of cinnamon in the kitchen. Many memories were embraced in its sweet aroma, and many people felt their hearts tighten just a little bit every time they tasted it.
He could tell his description of himself caught her attention.
"Spilling blood in the name of Mother Earth? A most peculiar of actions, indeed, my dear."
He didn't shake her hand, so she retreated it elegantly. No need to make a fuss about that.
"I had many names throughout history. Yet, just like any memory, they faded, too. Some are still around; others, only I remember. And my place is among the people, not in a faraway land. I know Mother Gaia well, but that does not mean I have an interest in being isolated in her pretty gardens."->
sweetness?"
"Peculiar little creature, is he not? Another technological wonder..."
She poked the robot with a gentle finger, as if it was her first time seeing one.
"Oh yes, indeed, quite a sweet little fella..."
Her attention once again turned to Victoria.
"What inspired you to get into robot creation,->

love you leave behind, dearest. Like fumes rising in the sun."
Almost as if on command, she turned her head away, a violent cough rippling through her body. A bunch of bloodied periwinkles lay now at her side, broken in many little pieces. She wiped whatever remnants of blood were on her lips->
"I do not claim to know you, my dear. I am simply... observing."
She bowed her head in true reverence.
"I carried many names over the years and none at all. Many cultures called me many things, and even more have been left behind by time. I do not intend to, but I see the trail of unrequited->
"Everyone seeks me out at some point, my dear."
She bent forward in an elegant curtsy.
"I do not have a name, but I have a calling: I guard memories, lost or intentionally forgotten. I feel this world's nostalgia as my own. I yearn for its love and carry its guilt."
conversations Moneta lived for. Soft, genuine, no strings attached. Just helping people who needed to pour their hearts out now and then.
"Oh, darling... that is normal. So many memories I receive of people who just... struggle. Whether it is old relatives trying to recall the face of their children, lovers who have been away for too long, and so many other examples like that. It is not your fault."

"I, my dear, guard the memories of humanity. All their yearning, their nostalgia, their feelings of loss and all the pain resulted from that... mine to hold."
She reached a hand out for him to shake, even if she presented him with no name.
"Not me. Your powers have no control over the divine, dear. Especially one that doesn't have fears."
Her hands reached up to her cheeks, wiping the tears away. She had enough control over her powers to not throw poor Nyx into an involuntary memory.
"Easy, easy... you are safe here..."
"Oooooh so many options. Could I get a pastel de nata, please? I love them."
She was impressed with the hospitality and there was no doubt she would return it in time.
"I can try, but that doesn't mean you will like what you see. Your own soul decides what it wants to see again, you know?"
She reached a hand out, boney and pale and incredibly delicate.
"Just a touch is all it takes. I will be at your side, so don't worry."

"You sought me out. Well, your soul did, whether you were aware of it or not. However shall I be of service to you, dearest?"
Nobody was more personal than a god with no worshippers. She had all the time in the world to mingle with humanity.

"Such a mighty warrior for what you believe in, but your heart years, doesn't it? Nature's calling clashes with that loneliness in your soul..."
"I am but a mirror into your soul. Apologies, I cannot control it in this form."
She took a few steps back, the sensations subsiding almost immediately.
"A lot of effort goes into maintaining this form. I must choose my battles wisely, you know?"
