A Google Gemini summary that reads: "Wii Menu 5.0" refers to a major 2026 update developed by the homebrew community, notably via WiiLink24, aimed at modernizing the 2006 console experience. It introduces Virtual Game Discs, allowing users to access a new library of content beyond the original, now-defunct WiiConnect24 services.

We're still experimenting with this format, and we might change things further or retract the change back to the old format. Feel free to give us any feedback, and thank you for reading!
Starting in this month's issue, the WiiLink newsletter will be longer and more in-depth! We'll be using the format to report on smaller under the hood changes, behind the scenes changes that you might want to know and more fun columns, including Forming Links and new editorials.
The results gave us a lot of insight: the frequent readers are the minority, and most people read it occasionally or not at all. The newsletter is for the diehards and occasional reading.
So, we're changing directions.
Let's talk about the WiiLink newsletter!
Since the inception of the website, we've been releasing newsletters periodically. In November 2024, this newsletter became a monthly release. Earlier this month, we released a survey with one of the questions asking if you read the newsletter.
