Last but not least, the interview of Pia Covre (in Italian), conducted by Rachel Love. Covre is a co-founder of the Comitato per i diritti civili delle prostitute (CDCP)The transcript is available here: taa.st-andrews.ac.uk/2023/01/16/i...
The book chapter co-edited by Marlise Richter and Kholi Buthelezi, Buthelezi is a key sex worker rights' activist in South Africa, and the chapter is available here: link.springer.com/chapter/10.1...
The interview of Ruth Morgan Thomas, active between the UK and several countries in the world, contained in the wonderful, open-access book edited by Dziuban and Sekuler, on pp. 75-115: www.researchgate.net/publication/...
The interview transcript of Helga Bilitewski and Freddy Strack (in German), active in Berlin, whom I have interviewed and whose transcript appears on the website of the project I am currently leading: ghiv.stir.ac.uk?page_id=100
Please find in the comments below the links to the oral testimonies of some important sex workers/sex workers rights' activists varying in terms of ethnicity and the locations where they have been active.
It is also timely in the context of the increasing stigmatisation of sex workers, coupled in many cases with the spike in transphobia in several countries across the world.
This is crucial due to the criminalisation of sex work in several countries, its material and emotional impact on sex workers, but also such criminalisation's impact on the sex workers' limited access to HIV and AIDS prevention and treatment programmes.
A belated, but hopefully still relevant set of thoughts on the #WorldAIDSDay: the voices of #sex #workers who have been active in HIV activism, as well as those of their allies, need to become more prominent in research and broader public discussions on the subject matter. A thread.

I am curious about ways in which this approach to identity could come into dialogue with queer studies.
