For a romance this was a pretty heart wrenching book. The portrayals of grief were well done but very intense. I feel like we did not learn much about Miles as a character. The couple felt realistic & I was rooting for them.

This was so creepy & trippy. I was stressed reading it, I just wanted to jump into the story to fix everything. I loved how Macys thoughts were what her sister would say if she was watching the events as a horror movie.

This was beautiful & interesting. I l liked how the answers were revealed in the dual timelines. The CIA parts were a bit spy thriller for me. The theme of who gets to write history was really well handled & important.

This book is so much fun - this was a reread before going to see the movie and I loved it just as much the second time. As a chemist, I will say that the science doesn’t always make sense, but it works in the context of the story.

This was a really interesting premise but it didn’t quite follow through. I wanted more tension/gothic vibes. I also found the religious elements too heavy handed, especially at the end. The ending was also too perfect

The premise is weird & unrealistic, but a good set up for a weird book. The characters are messed up & interesting. This was fun & an interesting commentary on fame/ the internet but not particularly deep

This was an insane story in all the best ways, I felt legitimately stressed by Margo’s choices. The tension kept ratcheting up and the payoff was worth it. I wish some of the research in the middle had more of a conclusion

This was engaging, but it wasn’t anything special. I liked the small town vibes & the setting but there were way too many POVs & timelines. There were almost no side characters wither personalities & the romance side plot was unnecessary.

I hate bully romances so I really hated the way this started. I liked the way the relationship progressed, but I didn’t feel like the characters had any emotional chemistry. The F1 setting didn’t add anything to the story

I liked how she talked about the interaction of femininity & athleticism & how being a woman was an important but not all-encompassing part of her career. There were a lot of sections that I thought could be more fleshed out

The one-day-a-year format felt forced & I didn’t love the dual narration. The story really wandered at times & the characterizations were just ok. Part of the mystery felt obvious but I was still surprised at the end.

This was a weird read - there was way more conversation about philosophy & life than there was plot, and the plot could be summarized in a few bullet points. I’m glad I read it, but I won’t reach for more Wilde

This was fun, and the shadow magic system was interesting but not fleshed out. There was a lot of inner monologue to explain things rather than showing. I like the characters and their relationships but they all needed more backstory

I love & hate Sybil, she’s a complicated and real character. I loved the epistolary format and the small window into the mind of Sybil and the side characters. There were times I wish we had more backstory or explanation

An interesting look at complex family dynamics & religious trauma. The plot relied heavily on Georgia reading facial expressions, which was interesting but got old. Most of the characters were realistic & complex

I liked the story & I loved the vivid descriptions of the scenery & how Sonia would paint each scene. I loved the intertwining of local superstitions & mystery. But the gruesome body horror in the second half really turned me off.

I enjoyed this book more than the first in the series, which is unusual. I liked that we got to meet a wider cast of characters and see more of the world and magic. The plot line was predictable but fun
