More details about script: I like to think in scenes. When writing I just work of whatever scene I'm in the mood for, so there's some future scenes that are more finished than others. It's kind of a mess, but it works for me. It's not that different from writing a novel in terms of structure!

If any of the panels have a background, I normally draw it on a separate layer under the character's layer. After the page is colored/shaded, I draw the speech bubbles and then the page is finished!

working in batches. I figure out the layout, using my script for reference. I place the dialogue on the page and figure out the panel compositions from there. Once that's all sketched out, I begin drawing the page. I finish the lineart on the entire page before moving on to coloring. (cont.)

It starts with a messy script, I just put ideas down and worry about cleaning it up later. I use a program called Obsidian to keep notes. My scripts are usually a basic description of the actions alongside dialogue. Then, I start sketching the pages. I usually do page by page instead of (cont.)

The fact that this is a color that is just produced by nature is mind boggling to me... it looks like someone painted it!

I really, really need the help. I hate to beg, I do. But I’ve been breaking down almost daily due to how much stress I’m under. I’ve been thinking of taking a loan out, but I feel like it’d be more of a pain. I don’t qualify for the care credits or scratch pay. Reposting helps. A lot.

i'm not gonna be able to get the tomodachi today and really worried that i'd be experiencing FOMO from seeing other people play, so it was really considerate for bluesky to go down just for me 😌

The Spectral Guide -watercolor, acryla gouache on paper

This painting was created for Commander Sealed's 2026 playmat, the original will be auctioned in August.

My concept was to portray the strength that comes from community, the guidance and courage that we lend to one another in trying times.

Because I require validation, you guys can have a sneak peak. I'll post it to patreon and ko-fi, cuz they'll get first dibs in case anyone there wants it and then I'll put it up in the ko-fi shop

and this is not me saying that you're a bad person for saying that word - i truly do not give a fuck. but you also gotta understand that that word represents a lot of abuse that people went through, and that's why they get upset to see people using it. just providing a bit more context.

1 week ago 1 0 1 0

you mentioned words like "crow" and "coconut" being used against black people which may be true, but also those are regular words that have existed for centuries. retard has only ever been used against neurodivergent people, and has no other meanings. it's a different context.

1 week ago 1 0 1 0

sure, it all depends on what spaces you frequent. i very rarely see people use that word and when i do see it, it's always meant to be hurtful. i know i'm not alone in this. there's people who see that word and feel upset by it because the slur is recent enough to have been used against them

1 week ago 1 0 1 0

it is considered a slur because it has historically been used against neurodivergent people, especially those with intellectual disabilities. it is not the same as saying someone is stupid or foolish, just how saying the word "faggot" is not the same as saying someone is "gay."

I guess young people either forgot or don’t actually know what the word β€œindie” is short for? An independent company means operating separately from larger corporations, not β€œproviding content for free always”. Adult artists need money to live and create more art, imagine that

yeah pretty much! if a storyboard is a reference for the layout of a scene, then a timing chart is a reference for the movement/timing of a scene.

1 week ago 1 0 0 0

the chart helps multiple animators stay on the same page about how each movement should be timed; when inbetweening, you're just adding frames in between the keyframes to make the animation smoother. the chart tells you how many frames should go in between each keyframe.

do you mean these? these are timing charts. i'm not very good at explaining but basically some movements require more frames to make them feel more natural, like a movement that starts slow and ends faster would require more frames at the start and less frames at the end.
