Changing shipping indicators w/overall declines and shifts from air to ground at both FedEx and UPS.

Decline in the number of cardboard box sales for shipping.

Dramatic increase in gig workers.

Sentiment on social media particularly from younger peeps about economy.

Print Book Sales Rose Slightly in 2025 A mild rebound in children’s book sales helped to offset softness on the adult side, resulting in a 0.3% increase in unit sales of print books in 2025 over 2024. The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins was last year’s top-selling title.

Saw someone griping about the fall of science fiction as a viable category of fiction and blaming "wokeness," and also, me specifically, for it. In the real world, in 2025, science fiction sales were up 22%. I published two novels last year. YOU'RE WELCOME.
