The great Irish writers, John McGahern, died on March 31st 2006. I showed some stuff I had boxed away to our local librarian in Portarlington, County Laois, and she decided to make a display, and track down all his books. #booksky

Yes, I worked in The Baggot Inn in Dublin where the Road Show had a residency in late 1973 or early 1974. I organised bikes for them to cycle up the Dublin mountains. It - a great show which I saw about 20 times - they had live ferrets which Sylvester had down his trousers at one point

Joachim Trier's Sentimental Value definitely up there with the best movies. Loved it. Stellan Starsgard is magnificent, as are the actors playing his two daughters. 5 stars.
