If property tax bills as based in value, only newly minted ultra rich would be able to live here. All these citizens that had been living here for over 50 years would have to sell and leave to who knows where. And by the way, their eggs nest for retirement completely destroyed.
We can always do what Texas does: property taxes change per year as valuation changes but no income taxes (and atrocious legislature). Pick your poison.
