The Isaac Memorial in Bristol Cathedral. John Isaac was enslaved by local slaveowner Thomas Daniel (1799-1872). This plaque was commissioned by his descendants. Unveiled in 2024, it counters the august Daniel Family Window of 1877. Nearby a large display addresses Thomas Daniel's role in slavery.

Blackwell, who was a vintner, later moved to the capital and became an Alderman of - the City of London! 2 of 2.
I'm a City of London Guide. Recently I visited Bristol, in order to take a break from the City and London generally. Hilly Bristol has several long stairways. On the first morning I walked down the Christmas Steps, which were one minute's walk from my accommodation on Colston Street. 1 of 2.
