Otter cub calling to parent
Amazing otter encounter today at Potter heigham. The adult trotted up to me with cub 8n mouth, spotted me, dropped cub and ran away. I quietly retreated, sat and watched as the young otter called it's parent back.
At least 3 water pipits with meadow pipits at Potter heigham today. At the limit of my skill/distance ratio for pictures....

Great to see a crisp adult hen harrier arriving over the see at Waxham yesterday. 2 snow bunting flew along the dunes and a few seal pups were on the beach too
Donald Trump is “most openly corrupt president in U.S. history”.
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.
They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1
Many were blackbirds, which coated paths and bushes and poured vertically down from the sky. Lots of redwings too, field fare, song and mistle thrush. A clouded yellow butterfly was unexpected too
Goldcrests Waxham Nov25
Blackbirds Waxham Nov 25
Murky mist first thing dropped lots of migrating birds to the ground at Waxham this morning. At least 2, probably 3 siberian chiffchaffs and a black redstart made the bird news reports, but the real highlight was the phenomenal numbers of thrushes - many thousands.
Spotted flycatcher at Waxham
Spotted flycatcher at Waxham
Rainy and quiet at Waxham this morning. A spotted flycatcher at Shangri la, and a brief black redstart over the Great barn were highlights.
Lesser grey shrike, Winterton
Snow bunting, Horsey Corner
Black redstart, Horsey Windpump
Brograve Mill
A morning researching for a book on walks and swims for the other half took me to Horsey, where I bumped into Tim H, then a v tame snow bunting, 2 common redstarts and a black redstart on Horsey wind pump. Cranes, great egrets and great views. At Winterton the lesser grey shrike perched in the dunes
