The Smurfs & The Moomins are interesting cases of what happens to a comic depending on the people who are left in charge of it, either end of the scale. The Moomins owners seem to be aware of its vintage & whimsical appeal & lean into it, whereas The Smurfs owners keep trying to give them iphones

there is also the slight interlink appreciation of uniforms can veer into nsfw territory but some historical job uniforms just look appealling visually to me and i like giving back to like the strong women who were in those fields via referencing stuff like this in my art

I love the old dress silhouette with the big capes but I love how old fire uniforms had androgynous tunics with the women's ones looking like witch dresses

like I'm more versed in this topic than when I first learned about goth subculture when I was 15 but I've always liked the aesthetic of nurse uniforms (whether their historical or anime cosplay interpretations)
