Huh, for the first year in a long time I haven't played any of the Game of the Year nominees at the Game Awards.

Mainly because I haven't finished Hades, Death Stranding or Hollow Knight yet... I have a finishing games problem.

Anyway, I hope Clair Obscura wins because it's the only new IP.

I'm so tired of racists masquerading as concerned citizens and a complicit media egging them on.

Lib Dems and Tories are notorious for this too. Pretty sure the Tory ones don't even mention the party sometimes.

It feels like there's a real dearth of good satire in the UK just now. Or am I just missing it?

We get German football free to air in the UK before we get Scottish or English football.

I'm looking forward to Friday nights watching the Bundesliga though, it's a great league!

There's also a report that Rolls Royce are striking deals to install small modular reactors in data centres and other power intensive infrastructure, so I'm guessing that's the plan. That obviously raises further questions!

I also feel like I messed up when I joined here and added too many accounts that will depress me. Might wipe everything and start again.

I found I preferred threads initially but it's got other issues. I think I'll use Bluesky for professional and threads for nerdy stuff.

I kinda forgot about Bluesky for a bit. How's the vibe here these days?

Got my yellow belt in Kuk Sool Hapkido at the weekend following this recent grading. Bit clumsy in the turn but happy with the clean kick. 🥋

Trump's Gaza plan will be seen as flying in face of international law Netanyahu's far-right allies will cheer the proposal, but Arab nations will see it as ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

This is the most insanely illegal and terrifying proposal by Trump yet. It's ethnic cleansing for his own personal profit and will lead to a massive increase in terrorism aimed at the US and its allies or all out war in the middle east.

The biggest positive about DeepSeek is laughing at the AI CEOs reaping what they sowed on copyright and IP.

Everything else about it seems sus though. I'll stick with Claude for now.

It's extremely disappointing. Can't see how their research would show this is a good strategy either.

A massively increased paywall from £7 a month to £31. Will also affect snowsports, snooker and other Eurosport coverage of course. Booo!

White House pauses all federal grants, sparking confusion The Trump administration has put a hold on all federal financial grants and loans, affecting tens of billions of dollars in payments.

I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

Also just very sad to see an iconic brand like Eurosport disappear in the UK.

I can't see this making WBD any money, as those fans interested in cycling and football (and wealthy enough) will have a TNT subscription already. Everyone else will stop paying £7 a month and start finding dodgy streams online instead.

Eurosport is closing down in the UK - cycling is about to get a lot more expensive to watch Live cycling to be shown on TNT Sports from next month

This is exceptionally disappointing news for cycling and snowsports fans in the UK. We'll now have to pay £31 a month instead of £7.

Boooooo!

I am very fed up being sick. Feels like I've had various bugs and viruses continuously for 3 months.

I'd love a run at life in full health. Bah. 🤢
