I dunno if they liked it but I'm sure some of them used it more in their art for the render and probably the price.
And I feel you with the drawing process. There are some that are less soft. You lightly draw on your canvas before adding more. Solvent is also useful to act more like paint.

And that is awesome!!! I do feel more people should dabble in traditional mediums, especially this one. It's so relaxing and fun to smudge the crayons!

As for myself, I just had to feel the medium while I focus on my studies/practice on Expressionisme, Dadaรฏsme and Fauvisme

My plan back then was to make a short comic or game leaning more towards 2D afterward to make a visual novel with light puzzle elements. It sat on the backburner while I went through some rough patches and computer issues. Thankfully I still have my documentation to rework.

Here's a few original drawings I made back in 2015. It was more inspired by a cute whimsical gothic style like Tim Burton, Alice Madness Return and Don't Starve.
It tells various short horror stories from the perspective of animals.
