Yes I agree - it's the most likely co-ordination point in a constituency that is really looking for one. Open question in my mind if yet another bar chart leaflet can make a dent though, will Greens (or others!) be able to convince voters that this is truly something different?

But I also wouldn't underestimate the effects of more education - especially universities - in liberalising younger people, even STEM students e.g. as in this panel study from @elizabethsim0n.bsky.social @danjdevine.bsky.social @jwfurlong.bsky.social www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Our study suggests that studying some arts/humanities/social science subjects (compared to studying other subjects) pushes people in a more green/authoritarian/liberal direction even in school www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

It's also not really about Galloway anymore - like many political entrepreneurs, he showed that there was electoral potential in his positions - but once that had been demonstrated, other - perhaps more skilled (Faiza Shaheen, Leanne Mohamed, IA MPs) - political actors stepped in

Muslim Voter Group To Endorse Greens In Gorton And Denton By-Election Exclusive: A pressure group focused on who Muslims should support in elections will endorse the Green Party in Gorton and Denton.

Would never underestimate Reform in a by-election, but I would say that the 2024 WPB candidate in this seat underperformed compared to the potential voters here on that issue. This from yesterday seems likely more consequential www.politicshome.com/news/article...

Non-fiction: Emperor of Maladies, Siddhartha Mukherjee

Fiction: Day of the Jackal, Frederick Forsyth (also kind of cool for the political stuff 🤓). Or the Spy Who Came in from the Cold by John Le Carré.
