i just cannot get over how much the administration’s response to the crash shows a profound disrespect for the lives of the people they are supposed to serve

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.
Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

The passing of Bob Uecker saddens me beyond measure.
He was a legendary radio and TV PxP guy, but he was also an amazing comedian and an even better human being.
He will be missed.
Facts.
Our first regular off-season show has landed.

Today felt like a good day to announce we are on Bluesky! Oh and...
I’m still sad about Andres being traded.
I know that the team filled a massive hole yesterday + restocked on pitching talent, but I haven’t loved a player that much since Grady Sizemore.
Dude.
This deal for Gimenez better be the right deal or the fanbase will go up in flames.
I should clarify that this isn’t just us that this happens to. This is a standard practice among all MLB teams.
That said, a polite email back saying “you don’t meet our vetting criteria” would go a long way.
We’ve been put into a space that didn’t exist before, but now does.
We’ve established, professional behavior in dealing with pro athletes. Nate Furman, Richie Palacios, Tim Herrin and Tanner Bibee have all lent us their time and stories.
The Guardians prefer that we be nobodies, that’s clear.
Silly, right?
One of my crowning achievements was interviewing Tanner Bibee.
It was an offseason interview, and it took some patience to get it done. Schedules are hectic and we never want anyone to feel like we’re pressuring them.
We’ve always been kind to those who lend us their time.
Now we have to be vetted by the Guardians communications dept.
I emailed Austin Contrilous back in May asking for their vetting criteria, and responded with the information that he asked for.
It’s been SEVEN months and I haven’t gotten a reply. Players can’t talk to us without permission now.
When I tell you that there has been a dynamic shift in attempting to get players to come talk to us, it is a HUGE shift.
It was not uncommon for us to be able to work directly with players to schedule interviews. We are always respectful of time, lifestyles and schedules and been courteous.
Now?
Here’s the present reality for most of us in Guardians podcast/media space 🧵
If you are in any way remotely critical (even in an objective, journalistic manner) towards the Guardians organization, you’re getting gate-kept from media access by the teams Director of Media Relations.
I’m not joking.
Is "fan outreach" in the room with us right now?
I’m not losing a wink of sleep.
This is as mid of a signing as it gets
Time for a Guardians mailbag! #ForTheLand
This is one of our favorite things to do because it gets us outside of our echo chamber and makes us think.
Give us your thoughts and questions. Anything and everything Guards related is welcome!
We’re going to do our first offseason podcast this week.
Much to talk about with the Guardians so far, but we want to know what all of you are thinking about.
Drop us your questions/thoughts in the comments to this post and we’ll discuss them!
Alright Buckeye Nation,
How are we feeling?
Dan Lanning is an absolute fraud.
Adding this to my daily tabs that open when I open chrome!!
You should be at least a little ashamed.
That said, I like it.
I do too! And I’m thankful for mid-week hockey and NBA games and the insanity that is now the CFP.
The dark days of the baseball offseason are brutal.
Been watching football all day, some pretty darn good conference championship games.
I still wish it was baseball season.
Spotify gave us a terrible AI DJ before HiFi which has been promised for over two years.
AI is bad for consumer tech and I will die on that hill.
Nothing in this world will get me more geeked on a Friday morning than watching my homies FEAST when they deserve it.
God is good.
In a world where two major governments are in the process of collapsing, I’m thankful that we have the Cavs.
#LetEmKnow
It’s crazy to think that we’ve had Common Man on 97.1 the fan for as long as we have.
Count your blessings with your favorite radio hosts. It’s a volatile business sometimes and the fact that we’ve had someone on one station that talks local sports teams as long as we have with Mike is good.
OSU can’t fire Ryan Day.
Not with guys like Julian Sayin in waiting and a 5-star commit Tavien St. Clair on the way.
