My new little buddy in our teeny pond. There were 2 other plops that I assume are the same. Welcome ID if anyone knows. #backyardwildlife

This describes my gardening style. And housekeeping, really.
A yellow, black and white caterpillar on an orange flower.
Found this cutie on my Butterflyweed today. The dog was wondering why I screamed. Ha! #nativeplants #monarchwatch

Large Grey and brown moth camouflaged on a cement step riser.
Carpenterworm Moth. Terrible name for a beautiful moth!
I found wild Heuchera americana this weekend on our local trails. Something I see everywhere in gardens but have never found wild before. ♥️♥️
A flower-fly of some kind on what is supposed to be a Virginia Rose but is looking suspiciously like a Carolina or Swamp Rose. Haha!
I love how this Cabagge White looks with the Chicory. Chicory is one of those (very few} non-native plants that just make me happy.
Tiger Swallowtail on Joe Pye Weed in a suburban yard.
Hummingbird moth hovering next to blazing star flower stalk in front of coneflowers and butterflyweed, a street in the background.
Gray hairstreak butterfly nectaring on anise hyssop in a suburban yard.
It's Earth Day! Plant some native plants.
@amanakatora.bsky.social We met today at the Wild Ones table at morven park. I'm trying to figure out how to dm you to ask you about the bees under my deck. 😂
Giving? Giving? You're giving them what they what by agreeing to anything they are asking at this juncture. Make the come to the table in good faith. Do not agree to their BS. The world is watching. What are you signaling to the world if you do this?
Thank you so much for your work on environmental issues in our state. Did you know that it is currently legal for HOAs to ban pollinator gardens and other conservation landscaping? @wildonesnova.bsky.social is trying to change that. We'd love to talk to you about it.
A neighborhood street in the background with a pollinator garden in the foreground. Butterflyweed, dense blazing star, coreopsis and other plants native to the eastern us are in bloom.
Did you guys know that in 43 states HOAs can ban pollinator gardens? @wildonesnova.bsky.social is trying to change that in Virginia
I'm here. I'm screaming too.
why did it take me so long? Because the last time I used a TI-89 there was no easy way to do that I guess?
I know the internet is sometimes a terrible place. But I spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to make a TI-89 display an answer decimals instead of radicals (helping with 9th grade Geometry) and then remembered I could just ask my pocket computer. Less than 30 seconds.
Virginians, volunteers work hard every. single. week. to remove invasive plants from our parks and wild spaces. Help us turn off the tap at the source by requiring garden centers to label the invasive species they sell! Ask your state rep to support HB1941 and SB 1166 docs.google.com/document/d/1...
Ok, so hear me out. Mimosa trees are invasive in the Eastern US. Could there be a way that in this book they all just...get relocated to their native range? Would be so hot! 😁 Ha!
Goldenrod are some of my favs!
Yaaay!
Thank you!
How do you cook the skin when you sous vide? Last time we left it on and used a torch to crisp. I didn't like the result. Did a test airfryer skin this time and wasn't super excited.
I came here expecting to see a bunch of troll-y replies, and I'm so pleasantly surprised!!
Love this. I'm going to see if I can convince hubby to cancel prime...
I mean, dads too, but my Signal chat is called the Mom Mafia, so you know...
I love this book! I recommend it to all the moms looking for strong female characters for their pre teens and teens to read.
I accidentally bought yogurt sweetened with sucralose and... I don't like it. 😩
