Only a moron would emulate someone as incompetent as Columbus: didn't know where he was going, but took credit for "discovering" some place that was already inhabited, not to mention being a horrible boss.

Because of course no one has bothered to actually train them to operate the security scanners or interpret the images. I imagine they'll spend their time browsing magazines at Hudson and confiscating half-empty water bottles.

I mean, it's not like these bozos actually KNOW how to run any of the security scanners OR interpret the images. All they're good for is confiscating half-empty bottles of water.

And who was making those descriptions?

Yeah, I've heard that a couple of times during my working life and always thought, "if this company is anything like MY family, they wouldn't be saying that."

You don't get to have your side INCITE VIOLENCE against peaceful protestors and then turn around and claim you're (sic) sending in the National Guard to quell the violence you yourself started.

I can only think of two TJ's I've ever been to that DON'T have crazy hairpin turn parking garage accesses and stalls that are nearly impossible to get into or out of - the one on top of Queen Anne and the one in Shoreline.

2. I mean, isn't that literally the point of physical sports: to determine which athlete or group of athletes is BETTER than another?

Exactly. Any sport requiring even a moderate degree of physical activity will by-definition have athletes who maintain a "physical advantage", be it height, weight, strength, endurance, reach, speed, etc., etc. over other athletes.

Those of us of a certain age *cough!* Tail-End Boomers *cough!* remember watching cartoons in the early-to-mid 1960's that were just as blatantly long-form commercials, primarily a show called "Linus The Lionhearted".

Sometimes what you need to keep your sanity and sense of groundedness is to watch a mama Bald Eagle care over her clutch of eaglets. I recommend doing so with the sound on - it's very soothing!

Because reporter and whatever publication or network they represent would never get access to him again. Most of the media - regardless of their political slant - are already being locked out, and the suits that run them are terrified of becoming targets for his bullying and retribution.

The sad truth is that most of them don't even know what a tariff is or how they work, so he was easily able to - once again - pull the wool over their eyes.

You can't have equality without equity. And regardless, anyone hired by a company adhering to DEI principles still has to be qualified to do the work competently. That's the most recent Big Lie of the Right: it's not that unqualified POC get jobs, but that less qualified White People don't.

Great interview. I've had the privilege of interacting with Sophie on several sets over the past seven or eight years now, and IMHO she's simply a very nice person. That said, when you stand near her you can literally feel the talent emanating from her like an aura.

Thank you! A federal judge blocked U.S. DOGE employees from altering any records of payments at the Treasury Department while she weighs a request by public interest groups for a broader injunction against their activity. Thank you, U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly’s! 🙏
