It’s hard for people to understand at a certain level, you’re paid to do a job, not by the hour.
If you do your job in 4 hours, great! If it takes you 14, that’s also part of the deal.
If you’d like an hourly job, that’s what consultants and contractors are for!

Spent my day off taking photography lessons. How did I do?
Finally stopped lying to myself (and others), I’m not doing anymore JS, DevTools or DevRel. I’m just a soulless executive, wasting away in Zoom calls and Spreadsheets. Those things just suck the life out of you.

Trying to hire a Senior Technical Writer, and the amount of Tech Writers that used to work for the US Armed Forces or Department of Defence is surprising. 🤯 Got people applying that wrote the manuals for Abrams tanks, jet fighter subsystems and various DARPA projects.
