also FWIW Erst has never been on any streaming and I never sold through iTunes or Amazon. I was hesitant to do Bandcamp too but finally caved in 2017 and it’s been a life (label) saver. I get 1-2 new followers every day on average, the occasional full digital discog purchase is always a nice jolt.
but we live in a world where almost everything seems to get worse all the time, so I won’t hold my breath.
what we need is a cool musician who has made a ton in stocks/crypto to buy Bandcamp, it can’t be that pricy relatively.
and it could use some improvements too (for instance why I can’t just do a sale on all digital, no physical? easy fix I’m sure, huge revenue raiser for everyone), so win/win/win.
FWIW we (Erst and else) are fully set up to sell directly through our own site/s as well as Bandcamp, but almost no one ever does that, even though it’s cheaper for customers. just a data point…
