I believe that single payer is the most comprehensive and holistic method to achieve universal healthcare coverage for every person who calls California home.
Today I am disappointed. But tomorrow I get back to work with allies to continue the fight!

I am disappointed to learn that AB 1900 will not receive a committee hearing. I remain a proud and enthusiastic principal coauthor of this life saving piece of legislation.

The California State Park Stewardship Act of 2026 (AB 2277) passed the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks, and Wildlife earlier this week!
It would require the Department of Parks and Recreation to integrate climate considerations into all aspects of park planning, development, and operations.
Save the date for our next campaign meet and greet in Studio City! RSVP today by sending us a DM, and then we’ll send you the registration form. Hope you can join us!
🚨AB 2509 passes Assembly Education Committee!
Burbank, Glendale, and Los Angeles Unified School Districts have been facing declining student enrollment for the last several years, which means less funding for our public schools.

We had a chance to discuss what I’m doing in the state legislature to build safer, sustainable, and more affordable communities.
Thanks for supporting our campaign for state assembly!
Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy weekend to join us for our Glendale meet and greet yesterday!
It was wonderful to reconnect with old friends and to meet some new neighbors.

“There can be no excuse for sexual assault. I believe in our justice system and its ability to uncover the truth. In the meantime, it is time for Mr. Swalwell to step aside in the race for Governor.”
“The allegations against Congressmember Swalwell are very troubling and disqualifying. There is no excuse for treating another person the way Mr. Swalwell has been accused of behaving.”
Don’t forget to RSVP for our meet and greet tomorrow in Glendale!
“…I understand that Republicans are supposed to be a bulwark to the overreaching, big-spending, tax-hiking tendencies of the Democrats. But if this is what they’re spending their time on & this is their approach to the legislative process, is it any wonder why Republicans are in the superminority?”
This bill will receive its first hearing in policy committee tomorrow morning. It’s imperative that we pass the bill to create a standalone post-production tax incentive program so that we can compete with jurisdictions across the globe to keep jobs in California.
Thank you to Congresswoman Laura Friedman, Congresswoman Luz Rivas, Assemblymember Tom Lackey, and members of CAPA for joining me today as I unveiled the details of AB 2319.
Call your Assemblymember today and encourage them to vote YES on AB 2319!
Happy Easter 🐇🐣🌸
Wishing you a day filled with love, fresh beginnings, and a little extra sweetness. May your heart be as full as your basket 💛✨

I was honored to stand with members of UTLA and SEIU Local 99 yesterday. I joined the LA County Federation of Labor and other electeds in calling upon LAUSD to work with their employees to negotiate new contracts to deliver a livable wage, benefits, and enhanced workplace protections.
Today we celebrate the inaugural Farmworkers Day in CA. While the holiday may have a different name, the focus remains the same: we celebrate and acknowledge the hard fought gains that were only made possible by the resilience of farmworkers across our great state. Thanks for all that you’ve done!
Teachers are the backbone of our communities and the co-authors of our kids’ lives. I’m honored to have the endorsement of the California Teachers Association — 310,000 strong.
Together we’ll build a California that values educators — not just in words, but in action.
Thank you, @asmnickschultz.bsky.social ! 🫡
And, just as importantly, I’ll be ready to answer your questions. Hope to see you there!

We’re coming back to Glendale! Join us for a meet and greet hosted at the home of Rima and Donnell Cameron on Saturday, April 11th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
I’ll be providing a brief update on what I have been working on in the state capital on your behalf.
As a freshman elected @votenickschultz.bsky.social introduced bills to protect CA's rivers, improve energy affordability, and safeguard biodiversity. We ❤️ when climate champs hit the ground running! JanePAC had his back the first time he ran and we have it now.

Thank you to the Civil Action podcast for granting me the opportunity to discuss how we can “Trump proof” California. I so appreciated the interesting and insightful conversation with the hosts: Brian and Shant.
Be sure to check it out! Listen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AY9...
I am honored to stand with this incredible coalition backing Eric Swalwell for Governor. Let’s build a safer, more affordable California for everyone!
Local law enforcement should answer to the communities they serve—not moonlight as federal immigration agents.
Public safety works best when everyone feels safe calling the police.
Let’s keep local policing focused on our neighborhoods—not federal immigration enforcement. (Part 1/2)
Lastly, remember that Election Day (6/2/26) is only 85 days away. Register to vote and be sure to cast your ballot in this important election.
Next, I was honored to join @elenasatryan and her supporters for her campaign kickoff. Elen has led Glendale during very challenging times, and she continues to show up and fight for the community she loves. I’m grateful that she is running for reelection to the Glendale City Council!
It was a great weekend in the Jewel City supporting some incredible people.
My first stop was the campaign kickoff for Ingrid Gunnell, who is running for reelection to the GUSD School Board. Ingrid is a principled & caring leader for Glendale students, families & teachers. Proud to stand with her!
Today, I stand with nurses in demanding solutions to key issues:
✊️ An end to cost-cutting at the expense of patient care
✊️ Safe staffing levels that protect patients
✊️ Real solutions to burnout & nurse retention
✊️ Fair economic proposals that support nurses & families
✊️ Safer workplaces
(Part 2/2)
Lastly, I was thrilled to join my friend, Dr. Suzie Abajian, in her bid for reelection to continue serving as the Glendale City Clerk. She has accomplished so much, and will continue to put the community’s interest first and foremost in everything she does.
