Good clean fun!
I couldn’t have said it better!
It’s the little things…
Synchronicity!
Hope you enjoyed it—
Let me know what you think. Some twist-o dialogue in there, as I recall…
No memory of this whatsoever - which in no way means it didn’t happen…
Thanks so much, Trent!
Definitely a little slower banging them out than the old days…
But really glad you enjoy—
Thanks for the recommend, Mark. Feeling’s mutual.
The Greatest Generation had it SO much harder than us. They had to go to Europe to fight Nazis.

L.A. Details.
This image includes:
a 5th Street “shotgun sign”
and
a Leonide Hotel “blade sign.”
I write about the weird origin of that very story in upcoming collection, “Gonzo Neurotic.”
Can’t believe you dug it up!
Dunno whether to credit Martin Lawrence, Ron Shelton or Jerry Stahl but every time I watch BAD BOYS II I have to post this shot... it cracks me up
I’ll be talking to Tom Lutz, founder of Los Angeles Review of Books, at Diesel Books in Santa Monica, about his new work.
So you caught
Caligari at 16?
Hats off! I’m sure you turned out perfectly normal. In ‘77, I watched Pasaloni’s deranged masterpiece, “Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom.” Did not realize we were the only people left in the theater until the lights came up….
No psycho-emotional fallout whatsoever.
Wear out your library card. Your heart should palpitate when you step into a library and smell all the books. Oh my. Such a rush to know there are always books you haven't read yet. True luxury of the mind. Growth and feeding of the spirit, decadence...

Reading this while thinking about @elivalley.bsky.social's observation that a signed photo of Theodor Herzl, the founder of 20th century Jewish ethno-nationalism, hangs in a @nytimes.com board room. Looming over their every word. Timestamp: 00:04:57
_Some historians_ expressed concern at the political interference in an institution that was long viewed as independent.
I'd like to know which historians did not express concern at the inevitable "Slavery Was A Choice" exhibition.

Great news. I loved these books.
One of my favorite books. Spectacular.
Thank you.
I’m glad the hospital shoe police didn’t get you. Croc Jail can’t be good….
