Well, I’m spent and stressed about some things that have come to light.

This seems like a good place to mention Dreamwidth studios. It’s a social media network that runs similarly to how livejournal had.

It’s user owned, has no word limits, algorithms or rampant bots. Within the site gated communities can be set up.

It even has spellcheck.

It’s too bad the masses refuse to use or even acknowledge Dreamwidth. It would be a better way for the olds to share family pics and is basically exactly what you’re talking about plus journaling capacity. They could even set up group access only family areas via communities.
