I listened on the way to work and I have a lot of wonderful take aways and will be purchasing the book. I’m not a Manga lover but agree with the statement that it is an equity issue of having available for students. I look forward to continuing to build our collection.

“Manga gets kids reading”

“Manga has a high complicity to build empathy”

Love these takeaways! #TLsky

What is your best circulating Manga with your students? Mine is Demon Slayer which came from a student recommendation! Also, a great listen for helping build your collection.

We’ve been utilizing VR for real world experiences from showing students the election process and how voting polls work, to navigating an airport. It’s really bringing new meaning to virtual field trips. #Eduskychat

AI is a wonderful partner. It’s save me time with writing shelf talkers in the library which in return has increased my circulation. I’m still the expert, but I’m also the expert in making AI work for me. #Eduskychat

We’ve ran into this issue as well. I’ve learned to have a strong back up and then submit the ticket with rationale. #eduskychat

As a librarian I could not agree more that accessibility “needs to be king”!

Feedback is so important and a great reminder that student voice is important.

I am just now going back to read and see what I missed. Yesterday was a Monday. A very long Monday. Hope you get some rest over break!

The image contains a gradient background transitioning from orange to pink. The text in white reads:

"Make an effort to meet with your principal regularly – either monthly or quarterly – to share your school library story.

I have a mason jar where random diamonds can be placed; all the diamonds are sorted in their own container. The only issue we have had is the lid to the sticky stuff not being placed back on and drying out. We have the directions with a QR for YouTube. I sit with the kids when there aren’t classes.

I have an assigned student helper each hour who checks and makes sure that the area is tidied and that the tacky part is covered. I also cut the film in small squares so they can only remove a little at a time and if some reason it gets removed and not finished/recovered it doesn’t hurt anything.

I have a Google Form for them to fill out with wish lists and activity ideas. It’s not perfect but it’s what is easy to track what kids are wanting/requesting and also provide data for purchasing power when needed. #TLSkyChat

Legos are a huge hit as well. I wasn’t sure how it would go in a high school setting but then I remembered as adults we love our legos still. #TLSkyChat

Passive programming is what helped finally get the students to come in when I started. Lots of trial and error with listening to student input. #TLSkyChat

I have the passive programming up towards the circulation desk and my student helpers help “man it” while teaching. Thankfully the space is large enough to have a separate teaching space that doesn’t interfere with most library business. I’m also blessed with an amazing library assistant. #TLSkyChat

Q5: Diamond Art has exploded in the library and cloud sand. It’s really neat watching students gather and use it as a means to disconnect and socialize.

A1: I LOVE @wakelet.bsky.social for organizing and it makes collaboration with teachers a breeze. Students seem to like the ease of finding resources from the lessons taught as well. I enjoy the portfolio aspect for myself.

A3: Can my favorite digital tool count as my Kindle? An app I love is the @calm.com I often use it with students and while we color or play in cloud sand. #TLSkyChat
