Hmm seems @nmixx-bot.bsky.social hit a NotEnoughResources error this morning. It appears Bluesky still having some issues.
If the rumours of XG and Mamamoo potentially coming to Toronto are true, I really do hope they actually come to the Toronto area. I'm not the biggest fan of Coca-Cola Coliseum, but I do think that is the venue that makes the most sense for them to use.
More and more kpop acts going to Hamilton. It's obviously nice that a Canadian city gets a kpop concert, but the target audience is definitely Toronto and the GTA. For the vast majority, it is a bit inconvenient.
The fact that you can essentially chain the "also liked" means that this is truly the way to discover the niche subcultures and communities that exist on Bluesky.

I am going to get absolutely lost in a rabbit hole with this "also liked" feature lol.
Lets Go! Love this change!
photos are about to get a big upgrade with @thepope.dev's snazzy new carousel
Yikes... I wonder if this is due to ticket sales. Speaking just from the Canadian perspective, the decision to book TD Coliseum in Hamilton was a bit of a head scratcher. In 2020 they were supposed to have a concert at Rebel in Toronto. That's like 14,000 more seats in a much smaller city.

This was interesting.😆 Purple Kiss out in the first round feels off, but it was a tough matchup against Deukae. I'm pretty satisfied with the rest.
I am considering whether to just continue using witchsky.app. I kind of like it.
Ok, there's our confirmation that it was a DDoS attack. As someone who has had to work through the night to fix server issues before, I do sympathize with the Bluesky team. It's not a great feeling.
Need to wait for the root cause as determined by the Bluesky team, but really does look like a DoS attack just from what I've seen.

I also cut the sync interval in half. Should sync every 30 minutes now.
Also, I pushed an update to the NMIXX bot (@nmixx-bot.bsky.social) that will hopefully reduce the retweet spam.
It appears that an NMIXX comeback has been announced. This will be my first one too. ☺️
I don't like Threads as a whole, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit envious about how it handles HDR photos and videos.
I made a custom feed for the Toronto Tempo. Feel free to pin it for easy access if you want to use it.

Until I learn how to control the backfill, I'm thinking of leaving all the kpop bots on the old method (which is still pretty good).
Not that it's been active or anything, but @dc-fanstaff-bot.bsky.social is now syncing again. It's using the new method, so unfortunately there was some backfill that resulted in duplicate old posts (though they use Bluesky's archive post feature). Going forward should be ok.
Going to start experimenting with a new way to run the kpop bots. I probably do need a guinea pig though. Ideally want an account that posts a lot of images, videos and links.
Sometimes despite our best efforts at marketing… people really get it.
Jason is one of those people.
Beta tester. Rogue knowledge-base builder. Sci-fi author.
If you ever wanted to know the "what, why and how" of Gander's most important piece of infrastructure, then this article is for you.
This write up by Jason is primarily directed at Gander beta testers, but it is a very good read for anyone who uses any atproto app (eg. Bluesky).
It genuinely put a smile on my face seeing the response by some interop skeptic people on Gander coming around to the benefits of atproto.
