I've never seen him with jeans like those with the sandblasting in the front!

EXACTLY. The crowd who came last year was not universally white and retired but you'd think so looking at this image.

AI generated image of hundreds of old white people in a park on a sunny day with red lanyards around their necks, in a tightly packed crowd with Nanaimo harbour in the background. The crowd is gathered around a table and a man and woman in the foreground. The man has an obviously likeness to Tod Maffin, with brown hair, glasses and a blue shirt with French language writing on it, and the woman has short pink hair with bangs, with obvious likeness to me (Jocelyn)... except she's standing and no wheelchair in sight.

@thevaginawhisperer.bsky.social discovered this on sloppy FB page. Just sharing my deep sense of discombobulation at seeing myself depicted standing up. That's me in front w/ pink hair (& apparent boob job). I've been a full-time wheelchair user with paralysis since I was 9.

oh believe me, I'm aware! It's such a cool program - I asked Province of BC and VanCity when they were offering e-bike rebates if they would do similar for e-handcycles because of it. (they said yes, but their rebate is a drop in the bucket given the cost of e-handcycles)

Please feel free to give SCI BC's Infoline a call if you'd like help tracking down a wheelchair that suits you. 1-800-689-2477 or info@SCI-bc.ca. Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
I'd also suggest you contact Fraser Health's home care svc - 1-855-412-2121 to connect with an OT and other support.

Hey there! If it's for a shorter term issue, reach out to the Red Cross who can loan you a wheelchair at no cost for up to 3 months (often renewable if you still need it). Closest one to NW is in Burnaby on Edmonds. 604-522-7092. you just need a referral from a doc, OT or social worker.

Both - I learned to crochet as a kid, learned knitting in my early 30s. I use them for different things. Crochet seems better for toys & blankets and knitting seems better for clothes & accessories. I knit hats and sweaters and socks most often. I’ve crocheted a few blankets for family as well.

TikTok - Make Your Day

You can just do things and be bad at them. (In fact, that’s step 1 and 2 to doing anything proficiently and later, maybe well…but doing/making things just for enjoyment is underrated but worthy.)

2/2 Steph Cadieux has already followed up with AC Vacations on this we have heard, and Tod and I are speaking with ACV a couple of weeks from now to talk about how to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else. But what incentive do they have to follow the law without consequences?

Completely agree. Having an advocate and policymaker has been essential to the Accessible Canada Act’s development, but it is not succeeding if a champion is still necessary to get basic compliance with the law from the corporate sector. 1/2

I love those, I wish they were vegetables. They look like they would have a nice crunch.

How did I get to age 40 something without putting together that the German word Kaiser is from the annoying (or Fallout New Vegas) pronunciation of Caesar?

It doesn’t matter how it is compared to others. It matters what it feels like to you. At least it’s not syphilis, right?

Another one!
Andi is an RN from Oregon — she and her wife are buying a house in #Comox and she'll be commuting to #Nanaimo to work in NRGH!

Andi is the 5th healthcare worker in 72 hours to pass through the Nanaimo Healthcare Infusion (I think we're past 40 American healthcare workers moving here?)

Header of a NBC News article titled: Recent studies challenge Kennedy's claims about vaccines, Tylenol and antidepressants. Subhead: The Trump administration has pledged to conduct its own studies, but research continues to contradict its claims.

The latest finding came this month: After Food and Drug Administration officials questioned the safety of taking antidepressants during pregnancy, new research presented at an annual meeting of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine found that pregnant patients who discontinued the medications nearly doubled their risk of mental health-related emergency room visits.
Other recent studies have also found that aluminum salts in vaccines aren't linked to major safety concerns and that Covid shots have a protective benefit for children.

Even more evidence that RFK’s statements about Tylenol and anti depressants during pregnancy, and the risks of vaccines for kids are false and harmful. This administration is more concerned about scaring you than actually “making America healthy again.” www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

That’s one interesting thing about churros, unique dachshund mutt body. Her front legs are shortened and she doesn’t have the range of motion at the shoulder that Gertie did so she can’t properly hug. 😢

I may have to bill @coffeestainnorth.bsky.social for the eye drops and liquid sustenance that @todmaffin.com now requires for the hours of focus on this game though. No regrets.

Friends at @coffeestainnorth.bsky.social I am forever indebted to you for the peace you have brought to my household when Satisfactory came to Xbox. No more loud, shouting matches with teams of drunk and stoned college students driving my husband @todmaffin.com crazy on Overwatch.
