And this is how I get back to my firm belief that gender is made up because literally anyone should feel free to express themselves in any way with clothes, makeup and hair etc.

The difference between the times when I choose to express myself in a more feminine way now vs my early 20s is I'm not trying to look "acceptably feminine".

Like if I'm wearing makeup, it's purely for fun and done in a way that interests me (and isn't exhausting)

But somewhere along the way I forgot that I'm allowed to be nonbinary (and therefore trans) AND look more feminine if I feel like it.

I guess I felt that I had to prove my trans-ness by always and only presenting in gender-non-conformimg ways..

Before I started using "nonbinary" to describe my gender, I used "genderfluid"-

The reason I settled on nonbinary is because genderfluid felt more descriptive of my expression rather than my identity.

In a new era of letting myself express my gender in a variety of ways, not feeling like I have to pick a "look"

I have become less and less excited about awards season over the years for various reasons but.. I will say that I reallyyyyy want to see Sinners sweep the Oscars.
