This belief recognizes that the fates of people everywhere are interconnected. Let us stand together with our global family in their time of greatest need.

As Catholics [& other Christians & people of faith & good will], we are called to protect people living in poverty. Catholic social teaching emphasizes the responsibility of wealthier nations to support poorer ones, and the principle of solidarity—that we are a global community and one human family.
