"Union organizers Jonathan Jacobs of SEIU 1199 and Autumn Guillotte of the AFL-CIO are also scheduled to speak at the rally. Guillotte told Rhode Island Current her plan is to talk about the need for workers to band together in order to protect democracy." 🍞🌹🌹

Senate Republicans have another opportunity today to join Democrats, immediately fund TSA, & put an end to the chaos they’re fueling at our airports.
"It’s encouraging that it seems the party in general has embraced the idea that we need to have a fairer tax structure. That’s a paradigm shift 20 years in the making."

“We can build a resilient economy, make energy affordable and create good jobs, and the labor movement is ready to lead that charge.” - Patrick Crowley at U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Democrats roundtable on the rising cost of electricity.
I will be on the Dan Yorke show on @997wpro.bsky.social in the top of the 4PM hour today talking about our resolution in support of getting ICE out of Minneapolis. www.997wpro.com/shows/dan-yo...
The executive board of the Rhode Island AFL-CIO unanimously adopted this resolution about the ongoing ICE actions in Minneapolis. We stand in solidarity with the people of Minnesota and our union siblings in the @mnaflcio.org .
Just a reminder that chances are if you working outside today during the storm you’re a union member. And so was Alex Jeffrey Pretti.

A tweet from the International Trade Union Confederation that says: Venezuela 🇻🇪: @ituc and @CSA_TUCA strongly condemn the US military aggression against Venezuela and the violation of its sovereignty. We call for respect for the Venezuelan people’s right to self-determination, the immediate release of all those detained, and a return to peaceful and democratic dialogue. Peace and international law must prevail.
We join the international labor community in condemning President Trump’s unconstitutional actions in Venezuela.

From preschoolers to seniors, labor leaders and workers, social service agencies and small businesses, I’ve enjoyed meeting with so many Rhode Islanders in 2025.
Hearing their perspectives guides my work in Congress.
I will keep listening and elevating their stories in 2026.
Stopping clean energy projects already underway and destroying good union jobs threatens to take America backward. With unemployment rising and prices spiking, this order makes no sense. Workers should be allowed to finish the job.

It comes as a crushing blow to thousands of workers in RI & Mass employed by the industry, the RI AFL-CIO's @patcrowley401.bsky.social said. “The result of these actions remains the same: Workers lose hours, families face uncertainty, and energy prices stay high.”

“This is not the first time this administration has tried to shut down offshore wind, and it will not be the last unless we continue to push back,” said Patrick Crowley, President of the RI AFL-CIO.
