My parents came in town for Easter weekend but of course I was just reminded of my childhood trauma and religious trauma and the reason I don’t celebrate Easter.

I wonder how long it will take for me to get a sign name?? I will be so curious to see what my sign name would be!

The waitress came up to me later when my friend was in the bathroom and told me how sweet my friend is and she felt bad because she doesn’t know sign and I told her that this is why I am learning sign.

….for my deaf friend and how she deals with being deaf in public places. She uses universal signs that all people know. She signs thank you because most people know how to sign thank you. She doesn’t care what other people think of her. And everyone around her loves her, even though she is silent.

Would the waiter or waitress act awkward with a deaf person or would they be loving and inclusive?
My nerves went away when I saw our waitress was so sweet and inclusive! She acted calm and normal. She faced my friend so she could read her lips. I also got to see the other side, what it was like….

I made a deaf friend recently. She asked me to go out to dinner with her. Of course I was nervous because I’ve never gone out to eat with someone deaf before- like would I have to interpret for her, when I’m just starting to learn sign myself? (Continued in comments)

I’m freakin eating my dinner at 8:30 and should go to bed in 2 hours, even though I’m wide awake. I hate daylight savings!

How old am I? At work, a kid in group asked me how old I am on Friday. I was like “am I 32 or 33? Idk…” so I literally got out my calculator and calculated my age😭😅 The kid could not believe I did not know my age.
I’m 32 years old btw. I turn 33 in September.

I went to a superbowl party with some friends. There were a few kids there, as 2 of the couples at the party brought their kids, ages spanning from ages 6-9. At the end of the Jesus commercial, the oldest shouts “JESUS ISN’T REAL!” and I just about lost it😂😂😂 You know that kid is not indoctrinated!

BEAUTIFUL half-time show!!! I love love love all the cultura that was incorporated into the dancing and props and everything, and the message brought to the performance, which was that love is more powerful than hate and love can be a form of resistance, as many countries come together as one❤️💙

Last night I had a dream that I found out I was pregnant. In the dream I told my family, then later I remembered why I don’t want kids and then looked into aborting.
I was so stressed when I woke up! Then I remembered that no way is that possible with my amount of BC right now. Whew! #weirddream

I totally deleted the TikTok app. I couldn’t do anything without accepting terms and conditions and I know I couldn’t do that based off of what I’ve been told about how it’s been taken over.

Went to my first strip club tonight and I confirmed a fact about myself- I am not sexually attracted to women.

2/2: sequal = a middle school youth group nickname. There was already another Allison there when I joined the group, so I became “Allison the sequel”. I did not know how to correctly spell the word “sequel” at the time. After I learned how to correctly spell it, I still liked my own spelling better.

1/2: solana = my first Groovy girl I owned in elementary school had a tag that said her name was Solana, because “solana means sunshine in Spanish”. I was obsessed with Spanish and loved the word, so I made it my first e-mail address in elementary school (when e-mail first came out)

I’ve been moving as slow as a sloth today.

I keep opening up social media and forgetting that there are stranger things spoilers on there. I need to watch the series finale so I can go on social media again!

Last night I was super bored and was getting no notifications on my phone. I sleep in and of course wake up to like 30 notifications haha (Btw I had a dream I got a job as Alice (from Alice in Wonderland) at Disney World!)

My hopes for the year 2026:
1. My Spanish improves
2. My ASL improves
3. That I finally receive a sign name
4. That my marriage continues to stay strong
5. That my petsitting side gig continues going well and all pets are friendly
6. For social justice and peace
7. For “the day it finally happens”

It’s funny- when Nala randomly decides to attack my arms and heels because she wants to play, I take the pain. Usually I don’t like pain, but if the pain comes from Nala I’m like “awww it’s so cute that I got all these scratches and I’m bleeding right now”😂

That’s insane! That’s like the weather on our cruise in Mexico!
But ya know, global warming isn’t real….😅

It’s that time of year! My hopes for the new year! These are from last year. And almost all came true, except for the PT one, and my Spanish improving. I think my Spanish is good, but not improved as much as I wanted. Also, the human rights and justice one could always be better!

One of these days I will go to bed early enough to do my bruder eye mask before bed. #dryeyeproblems

Something I learned at the deaf event on Wednesday night is that the person who invented text messaging is deaf!! Which totally makes sense!

Went to my first deaf social event last night! It was a good one to go to because all members of the community- even those who barely know any ASL- were invited. There were people there that knew less ASL than me. But deaf people also attended. I made my first deaf friend!😄 It was a dream come true!

Again, I wish I had a fever because going to work sick sucks😭
