This is how you become a writer: just pick one of the things that is deeply wrong with you. Make it a character. Now send it on a self-help journey or try to kill it. Now call it a book.

I had appointments with both my therapist and psychiatrist today. It meant so much to be able to share my feelings about the election with them and have them share those same feelings. In a country that seems half crazy, that solidarity and empathy from smart women was so healing.

This happened at a Downers Grove, IL Panera. He and his wife were wearing shirts that read “Free Palestine.” She said “f—- Palestine!” and then went after them. I hope she’s arrested for a hate crime. The bigots are much more emboldened and we need to be prepared to stand up to hate. #FreePalestine

I hate when someone says “we need to talk.” No need to say that, just start talking. I don’t need the anxiety buffer zone, thank you very much.
