He crowd has gotten pretty big outside of the federal building. Some folks setting off fireworks occasionally as well.
Protesters now facing off with marines and cops in riot gear outside the federal building in downtown Los Angeles.
Massive amount of California Highway Patrol in riot gear guarding the freeway entry ways from protesters.
Out at the No Kings protest in DTLA. There’s thousands out in the streets right now with traffic all messed up in every direction. Seems like there’s dozens of different groups marching around. Some marine and cops out but it’s still pretty calm. Tom morello just spoke to the crowd.

Pretty calm over here, the protest has the vibe of a street party at this point. Police response is nonexistent so I think they’re gonna be out here for awhile.
Got word about another protest I’m checking out. There a pretty big crowd outside of the target on Whittier blvd right now.
Police towing the pro Palestine watermelon wagon now. Seems like it’s totally done for tonight.
The LAPD is also now towing at least one of the cars that were with the protesters.
Not too many getting arrested. I’ve seen about 3 so far and another handful waiting to be cuffed. There’s a lot of riot cops and police vehicles for what seems like less than a dozen protesters and some media that they’re letting go.
The LAPD seems to have corralled the protesters into a kettle now. Massive skirmish lines and both sides of a little group of protesters that were in front of the federal building.
Protesters are trying to outrun a kettle the LAPD is trying to form. So far I haven’t seen any arrests but we are now minutes away from the curfew. The LAPD is reinforcing their perimeter of DTLA and the protesters are scattered across the curfew zone in lower numbers.
Back out again for day 7 of the anti ice protests in DTLA. Right now the protesters are between city hall and LAPDHQ.
There’s less than half an hour til the curfew goes into effect.
Fucking ow.
Just got nailed in the leg by Whittier PD. They’re taking pot shots at me after I took some photos.
The anti ice protest is growing in size, Whittier PD is also getting reinforced by the California sheriffs. Another unlawful assembly as been declared with some less lethal shot off just now.
Some vehicles in the double tree parking lot got tagged up.
Whittier PD has pushed the protesters away from the hotel but are maintaining a skirmish line with some less lethal launchers.
Riot cops putting on gas masks now, so let’s see what happens next.
I’m outside the double tree hotel in Whittier. Supposedly ICE agents are staying here. A large group of protesters are trying to surround the building and the Whittier police just declared an unlawful assembly with one minute to comply.
One detainee is passed out and the cops are having medics come out to treat them.
Alright seems like everyone’s been loaded on the buses. With that it seems DTLA might be done for the night.
LAPD is now pushing all the press people on the side of N Hill I’m on. They’ve started processing folks onto the bus. The Police are also now warning that the curfew is in effect now.
LAPD and CHP doing a mass arrest in DTLA. Seems like the police got a dozen or so protesters and are moving in arrest buses now. The police also have a bear cat and about a dozen riot horse cops.
On the scene now with the anti deportation protests happening now at Aliso/main in DTLA. There’s prolly 1-2 thousand out blocking traffic while LAPD in riot gear wait near by.
March is back at it’s starting point, still in the thousands. Lots of riot cops on dirt bikes but no conflict so far.
Spent an hour trying to find the anti APEC march. Ran into a different protest doing the same and after too many hills we linked up with the main march. Now the march is in the thousands. Getting pretty loud too.
They have another action at 7AM to disrupt the CEO summit Wednesday morning. If they can pull numbers like this again they could mess up the morning meetings.
March wrapped up at Moscone center (well as close as police would allow). They chanted for about an hour and some folks tried to confront the riot police outside of a security checkpoint. Things mellowed out and the event is dispersing now.
