wanted to mention the random xiyouji statues in the field during kid day 1
- and now kid day 2 (day 12) has strong saye vibes loll - the yellow moped and taking them to their restaurant, kids running the town and smoking😞, and even the basketball at the end

stumbled upon ludwig's tip to tip 2 (china) yesterday and dear god, their chinese...🤣🤦
- I sure don't miss the smoking culture though ://////
- since they're there now (maybe just a few days offset), was thinking the elec cuts actually make sense

this was a fascinating read and a good complement to understanding the fans in zhuangxiang + shuzi

if I were to rank the angst levels of the three bananas novels I've read thus far:

zhuangxiang: bruhhh (average angst)
shuzi: bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (mostly for 115)
xianshi: bruh. (lower than avg)
fengling: bruhhhhhhhhhhhh

still haven't gotten around to a write-up of the Vanity Fair trilogy, but I'd say fengling is just shy of Shuzi ch115 levels of angst; there are more angsty incidents, but nothing so detailed/direct as c115

my comps are Yun Zhong Ge by Tong Hua and Joyful Reunion (FTYX) and I do have to say that JR is truly a joyful reunion when compared to fengling 😅
so yeah, I do highly recommend this to taisui-ists and JR fans but I'm the "lying in a pool of tears" meme + giving a thumbs up from that pose

between 萧盈 here and 周楹 (taisui), if I see another lead male character with "ying" in their name.....
but also, it just made me realize how perfect it is that zhou ying's ying has the mu/tree radical in it

I finished 风陵不渡......... (right after binging the Vanity Fair trilogy)
I think I'd say that three bananas is my 2nd fave cnovel author after priest now, but I'm gonna try to hunt for a baihe to read rn rather than her other 2 danmeis
- thank god for extra 3 and this final AN

^that kinda got answered in later episodes- seems like it can be both
the last episode featuring 3 deceased female relatives unfortunately makes too much sense to me 😭
Really glad they made this show and would love to try their services (esp. mudangs), if only I had the money...

vanished name: oooh, the last 2 scenes of ep 1 are very interesting 👀 thought it would mostly focus on FL's friendship but it seems like her mom also had a close friend
always nice to see other familiar faces too! (wang sheng di, jiang chao)

Thank you for all these recs!! Will (slowly) check them out 💞

and I guess I was also thinking of priest's bridge novel (which I know isn't baihe, but I loved that it was female-centered)- esp. that 2nd? last chapter where even commenters shared their personal experiences

1 month ago 1 0 0 0

that's true, and also explains why the Vanity Fair trilogy was still a rare find (among danmeis) for me 😢
I guess it's palatable since outside of a few side characters, it was still an OE/HE for everyone else

main point: it's sad to hear that some readers won't even consider baihe......

aside: speaking of Pretense, I don't quite know how to describe it, but if you have any baihe recs with a realistic take (and it's ok if it's depressing) on societal issues/personal traumas, I'd love to hear them!

tbf, I would love priest to write a baihe, but I do love f/f couples in danmei, and I actually wish some of my fav danmeis were baihes
Pretense is the most recent one in that category and the stories of the female characters was my fav part, even more than the main couple 😅

I didn't see that post but that's relatable, lol (I did finish qjj but was really disappointed by how the f/f couple's story actually played out - twt had inflated my expectations too much D:)

South Korea approves creating a trans rights foundation South Korea has approved the creation of a foundation fighting to protect transgender people from discrimination.

Lovely! I've been giving to this foundation—it existed, it just didn't have official status, and now it can move forward!

thanks for sharing!!
Wow, that's such a bold decision! Would be very curious to know their sales trends, i.e. if the series design is being accepted by their target readership, which I hope it is

watching Battle of Fates and it's so fascinating o:
Every time a shaman talks about their grandma/grandpa/child spirit, it makes me think of yrzx's Dispatch of Detained Spirits
+ curious if the Korean spirits are gods/"pure" spirits rather than spirits that were once human?

oh god..... DDDDDD:
realistically, I don't think the conflict will end that quickly, but I'm really hoping/praying some other solution will emerge for y'all re: elec/gas
please feel free to reach out if I can help in any way! (time, $, something else?)

I don't quite know what to say (and I'm privileged enough to not be directly affected rn), but did want to say that I saw your dw post too.
You don't have to answer if you don't want to, but how much has the fuel/elec prices increased? And is the elec affecting your work or something else? D:
