Three comic panels of Jo, first learned forward with wet hair, then snorting and looking up with a grin
My beloved 💕
Get top surgery without coming out to your family and let them try to get out of you how much boob is really left and if you're trans or what, it's like enrichment
Or 2) you survived and can survive creating something terrible. Nobody died. You now get to survive your feelings about it, too, and survive that, too.
Either way, that evidence is what's actually gonna work against the perfectionism going forward.
But also I don't think you can talk/think your way out of paralysing perfectionism. You gotta create the thing and then you will either discover that 1) it's not actually that terrible (sometimes you need to not look at it for a few weeks after completing)
In my mind, the first draft is something like putting the clay on the spinny thing. It can't be terrible, it's not supposed to be a bowl yet, you just need to get the material on there so you can get to work.
Let it be terrible. My first drafts are HIDEOUS. What's important is that it gets written, because you can always go back and clean it up, get feedback, improve things, but it needs to exist first.
oh yes. and uh to… cereal boxes

Did an art trade with @snackbagstudios.bsky.social who recently released their graphic novel Nymfe 😍
Just a couple of weeks before submissions open for the Stardust Collaboration!
Get those manuscripts ready and those art portfolios polished!!
Bahahah I mean, that is so understandable tho, I get it 😂 (my bathroom tends toward icy cold, so...)
Oooh sweet! Yeah, it will be extra handy 😂 good luck!
Oh, and if, like me, you'll have to sleep on your back for 5+ weeks: get a really good neck pillow. A really good one.
Handheld bidet!
And if I had had the money, I would have gotten two post op binders so it would be easier to wash one while I have to wear it 24/7.
ART said, And this is your idea of being helpful. I said, “This is my idea of the opposite of being helpful. I am here against my will and you are going to regret that.”
I get it's probably mostly jokes
But I still hate it
crediting Orbán's loss to Vance grinds my gears so bad
Genuinely the only way I can keep up with the news and still have the heart to talk about books, no matter how much I love them.
The artists deserve every bit of support and success for all their amazing work, and I can pay a bit of that forward to help others too.
Opposition leader Péter Magyar at a rally.
Orbán's electoral crushing is a far greater achievement than most people outside Hungary realise.
He systemically consolidated power for 16 years, fixed the electoral map, abused govt power for political purposes & censored media.
The hurdles that Hungarians overcame for this moment were immense.
Finally some good fucking news!!! 😭😭😭
more seriously congrats to the hungarian people for kicking that asshole out
associating genitals with gender is always gender essentialist and transphobic and it's depressing to see that shit even in queer circles. not every trans woman has bottom dysphoria and I'm tired of the notion that dicks are inherently evil and gross and manly or whatever. keep that to yourself
Yes, I often want to shake my clients. No, I never do.
The cover for This Mortal Coil, with art by Jan and Vlad Schwarts. The book is written by Jasmine walls and illustrated by Marie Enger. The cover shows a skeleton wearing a cloak and holding a golden, broken sword, their pose furtive as they tug at their hood. Behind them is a path leading up to a looming and shadowed castle framed by a bright moon and a blood red sky.
We're excited to reveal our newest illustrated novella:
This Mortal Coil
Written by @mythjae.bsky.social
Illustrated by @soengery.bsky.social
With gorgeous cover art by @artwins.bsky.social
We’ve also got some very cool announcements to go with this cover reveal, but first, what's the story? 🧵✨
I was only able to allude to the way Frazetta uses multiple armatures in his compositions but I hope to talk about this more in some future iteration of this lecture
