I know some people have a more disengaged relationship with their work, that it's purely a business, you draw trends on Procreate and send it to Cricut. Their joy is shopping for vinyl laminate and watching their Etsy line go up.
Even the art I create for $ is like a baby. I can't imagine using AI to write my artist bios, production descriptions, email replies and journal entries. Someone did that TO me once, and I felt so sad, that this person felt knowing about me was such a burden to their job making social media posts.

The most difficult thing to explain to non-creatives is...the part of the job we DON'T LIKE is the part that makes money. The marketing, the business meetings, the packing, the platform research, the book keeping, and phone calls. We want to keep the operation running so we can work on more art.

This actually makes me so sad as a former Destiny fan artist, I had a lot of joy browsing concept art and turning models around to discover textures, little details, and graphics like some sort of easter egg that someone put there for me intentionally.

I know people who've been out of work for 3 years, major studios have folded, work has shifted from creative to other departments. People recently fired have found themselves on the hostile alien planet that is hiring, we're taking classes on how to rewrite resumes with AI so another AI can read it.

I feel really tired, I had a great year last year. This year I worked twice as hard and it's a worse year. Artistically I feel I'm doing so much better, but at the end of the day there's metrics that absolutely do make an impact. Some stuff is out of my control but others are mistakes/sacrifices.
