I don’t know of any work on this topic either, but it came up when I was talking to a collaborator who seems to be convinced of that one of these scales is better than the other.

NKD is probably the most “authentic” of them. Trejo has a pretty good one that tastes totally different but good. Kentucky 74 is the classic one for mixing. Don’t expect any of them to be good for sipping directly, but mixed they’re pretty good!

Feeling especially sad and frustrated with the state of scientific funding in the US right now. It’s devastating that good grants with scientific merit are unfundable because their topics disagree with the politics of administration
