Depends what you mean to do. If I'm paying attention I'll dither to 24-bit, but I don't expect you or anybody else to be able to hear it. My Mastering plugin has dither options that are 24-bit. Maybe if you make FLAC downloads available you'd want to do it? Very much up to you. A vibe thing?

RPi 500 acquired (well, ordered). Can no longer just build everything on RPi 400 and say that's 'Pi support' when the 5 kicks so much butt. Should be straightforward and fun to do the whole process once more per week: Pi is not a troublesome platform to compile for, there's a script I run. Worth it.

All their other records are sonically awesome without exception. Katy Lied _specifically_ had catastrophic problems in mixdown and mastering forcing them to do crazy things just to get a two-track master to vinyl. They were trying to use DBX early and it broke. The highs in particular are hosed.

New supertweeter is not only working on good highs, it's also showing what a trainwreck Katy Lied was technically. Poor guys. There was just no saving this albuml, it was unmasterable. Could've been so good.

Looks like I have a DIY supertweeter to go with the DIY speaker. Seems good. I'm concerned that the fussiness of the build is going up, but that's the only part I can add that isn't external. Downside: not a hardware store item. Upside: just insanely cheap, albeit fragile.

Nope. I'm already running a cheap random number generator, so I came up with a threshold near denormalization, and it transitions into a sub-analog noise floor in such a way that there's no 'break' between audio and noise. No sputter. Noise level's different from threshold level, to do that :)
