Rereading *The Shadow Throne*, and if I had the guitar skills, I’d start a tribute band: JUAN EAGLE & THE DEPUTIES-GENERAL.
We’re all quite safe, though.

We don’t have a headboard. I can’t imagine how much dust a cloth one would collect. And unless it’s some EZ wipe fabric, I can’t imagine cleaning cat puke from it. 🤷🏻♂️
I spent this sunny Sunday afternoon putting up a list of my published work on my website. Fiction and nonfiction. I may have forgotten things.

Another early review of Battleborn #1 (from Don McGregor) praises both the issue and "The Fury's Blade," of which he says (in part), "There is atmosphere, action, and a depth of emotion here that others only wish they could attain." He even called it his "favorite."
Dang, that's humbling! ⚔️
An early review of Battleborn Magazine #1 calls my story “The Fury’s Blade” an “outstanding” and “wonderfully well-written” tale! And it praises the issue as a whole. Vamos! ⚔️

@scwkorsgaard.bsky.social Please see Chris's handle above!
Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful.
They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone.
Don't fall for it.
Perhaps you were expecting Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser? Ha! You get the inimitable Chris Willrich (left; @librariangoblin.bsky.social) and me, plotting over lunch in the San Francisco Bay Area. ⚔️
I feel sick to my stomach waiting around to see what atrocity Trump has in mind for the people of Iran this evening. It's hard to fathom our other elected leaders aren't able to check him in any meaningful way. It's an indictment not just of voters but of our whole system. We're ruled by a mad king.
I don’t—have never, will never—use AI in my stories. Using AI isn’t *writing*; it’s generating counterfeit product. Nuff said.
I've mainly been writing heroic fantasy/S&S, but this one from a while back is more "normal" or "literary" with a fantastic twist. Pleased to see it still online.
“Saint Tibalt’s Night” is live at the same magazine. Look for other tales soon at Old Moon Quarterly and Battleborn. ⚔️
Thank you!
I read Sharper Than Steel, Colder Than Death by Robert Rhodes in @curtissandsm.bsky.social magazine, a story of sacrifice, magic, revolution and swordplay. nightofthehats.blogspot.com/2025/05/i-re...
You may like “Sharper than steel, colder than death,” archived at same site. Look for more soon in Old Moon Quarterly and Battleborn. ⚔️
I think this is good! 🇩🇪

Everything about this picture is how I pictured trump's second term
I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.
The Constitution gives Congress the power to check the president. Lawmakers have punted on their duty since Donald Trump retook office.

Well. I can't remember the last time I liked a UK Eurovision entry, but this *gets* it in a way I thought we'd lost. Thunderingly British, including oodles of self-deprecation, and yet a love letter to the rest of the world, especially Europe. Brexiters will hate this.... youtu.be/niMKvJ-Itq8?...
Reminder: my new story "Saint Tibalt's Night" is live at Swords & Sorcery Magazine. It's a heist ... but also more. #amwriting #fiction #fantasy #fantasyfiction
Kristi Noem has done a stunning amount of damage and it’s good she’s gone.
But this doesn’t change the fact that we need a complete overhaul of DHS, impartial investigations into the killings of two American citizens, and information on children that were taken from Minnesota.
never, ever, ever, ever accept "how will you pay for it?" as an argument against social programs.
Really poor. Where are the goals supposed to come from? Games like this, you can just see the lack of attacking quality, especially in the central midfield.
I bet there are at least a couple players in the world who can throw as far as Ampadu and also move the ball.
